Colin Farrell, Toni Collette scare up 'Fright Night'

colin-farrell-toni-collette.jpgColin Farrell will get his vampire on in a remake of the 1985 horror-comedy "Fright Night."

Toni Collette has also joined the movie, which will star Anton Yelchin ("Star Trek") as a teenager who can't get anyone to believe that his new neighbor is a vampire. Said neighbor will be played by Farrell ("In Bruges," "Crazy Heart"), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Farrell and Yelchin are taking on roles played by Chris Sarandon and William Ragsdale in the original.

Emmy winner Collette ("United States of Tara"), meanwhile, will play Yelchin's mom.

Craig Gillespie, who's helmed several "Tara" episodes as well as "Lars and the Real Girl" and "Mr. Woodcock," is set to direct.

Oh brother. I can't stand them.

Odd choice but Farrell can act. Clearly they want a younger actor to take the Dandridge role (and get the ladies in the seats) and Colin already looks like a vampire in the photo above. I've been waiting for him to take on a horror. Prefer him in a fresh/original blood sucker flick but remakes are everywhere these days!
