'Captain America': Toby Jones to play scientist supervillain

toby-jones-arnim-zola-320.jpgCaptain America will face off against a genius nemesis. "Face" being the operative word.

British actor Toby Jones will play Arnim Zola, an evil biochemist who had genetically engineered clones and other hybrid beings for the Nazis, says The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.

One of Zola's accomplishments is being able to imprint a person's mental essence onto a cloned brain, thus creating a sort of immortality. To take advantage of this, he fashioned a body for himself that put a holographic image of his face on the chest area and an ESP box where the head would normally be.

Jones joins Chris Evans, who's been cast as Captain America, Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull, Sebastian Stan as sidekick Bucky Barnes and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, a French resistance fighter and the Captain's love interest.

Production is set to begin in England in the summer.

Jones, 42, is best known for playing Truman Capote in "Infamous." He was also notably the voice of Dobby the house elf in the "Harry Potter" films, Karl Rove in "W" and Swifty Lazar in "Frost/Nixon." He'll next be seen in the fantasy comedy "Your Highness" alongside James Franco and Natalie Portman.
