'American Idol': Listen to Carly Smithson on We Are the Fallen's 'I Am Only One'

Carly Smithson, finalist on the seventh season of "American Idol," has joined the former members of Evanescence to form a new group called We Are the Fallen. This new group has their debut album "Tear the World Down" coming out on Tuesday, May 9.
They have already released single "Bury Me Alive" and are now sharing their next single "I Am Only One" early in the ramp up to the album release. Carly tells People that their album is a "soundtrack of some of our recent life experiences" and that it features "a wall of guitars, epic choirs and orchestra, beautiful pianos and soaring vocals."
We have to say -- Carly's characterization of the album is apparent on "I Am Only One." The strings and piano is gorgeous and Carly's vocals are just as gorgeous as we remember from her time on "Idol." Well done, We Are the Fallen. Also check out the music video of "Bury Me Alive" below.

Carly is a very good singer, but the name of the band sinking into their subconscious will cause their defeat. Stupid choice for name.The video images are freaky and creepy too. What the 'f' !

I love that people say they hate someone that they don't even know. Anyway, comparisons to Amy Lee are understandable, but enough already. There's room for both of them in the music world and while I think Amy is more talented, Carly can hold her own and I hope she does well.
I saw WATF a few weeks back in San Francisco with HIM, Dommin, and Drive A. I have to say that Amy Lee, although a definite diva and the Axl Rose of Evanescence, blows Carly away in talent. Carly just never looked comfortable on stage and her vocals are nothing even close to Amy Lee. I wish Amy would knock the chip off her shoulder, pop her ego, and get back to some serious music with Ben Moody.

I can understand how you can hate someone and not like them. Maybe hate is a strong word. I dislike carly because she is a liar and will do anything for fame. Include change her look to copy someone who has established themselves without help from their famous mom. 2.2 million spent on an album that sold 400 copies, that sucks by an standards. Ben and Amy need to kiss and make up so we can get the real songs back, not some wannabe who can't make it on her own after 4 tries.

Seriously, Carley smithson or w/e her name is, this is crap... She is immitating my #1 favorit star, amy lee. Anything that comes from american idol in general isnt even REAL to me, its all BULLSHIT! Seriously, I cant stand american idol in general, BUT they have had some great singers come out of there, but its pretty sad that carley is immitating amy, to the T.. seriously, come on! The bands name has FALLEN in it.. evanescence's first CD was called FALLEN! BE ORIGINAL HERE! WHAT THA ****!
