'American Idol' Lee DeWyze: Crystal Bowersox 'is amazing and I love her to death'

Zap2it has part two of the Lee DeWyze interview after he was crowned the winner of "American Idol" Season 9 -- check out part I here. In part II, Lee talks about his plans going forward, his entire "Idol" journey and his good wishes for fellow finalist Crystal Bowersox.
When asked if he was surprised at the outcome, Lee says, "You audition with the intention of winning. If you don't think you can win then there's no reason to go audition. You have to believe in yourself. You question yourself throughout this competition because you're literally putting yourself on a platform to be judged in front of millions of people. So once you can get over the feeling of self-doubt, that's the biggest part of this whole process ... finding yourself and being okay with what you're doing."
"There were points in the competition where I said, 'Oh man, I wish I would've done that better,'" Lee continues. "But I learned that once something's done, it's done. The best you can do is go to the next step and try to do better."
Where does Lee see himself in ten years? "Still making music. That's what this is about for me. This isn't about I want to be the next big thing and then be gone. I want to do this for a long time."
So what did Simon Cowell say to him after he won? "Be happy with what you'e done and be proud of yourself because you deserve it ... He's a good guy. He's honest and he says what he really thinks and I appreciate that about him."
When asked if it will be weird for him not to have shows on Tuesday and Wednesday nights now, Lee cracks, "I'm going to hate Wednesdays for the rest of my life. I'm going to wake up on Wednesdays and go, 'Ugh, it's judgment day.' No, it's gonna be cool. I'm looking forward to wahtever is the next step."
And finally, what about his finale partner Crystal Bowersox, "As far as Crystal goes, she is amazing and I love her to death. I wish the best for her and I think that she's going to be successful. I know she supports me in what I'm doing. It's been good for everybody. I'm just trying to take it all in right now."

Pitch-deficient Lee DeWorse is arguably the most undeserving winner of the Idol to date. Lee can be described as a singer, yes, but Crystal Bowersox is an artist. She was a rare find; a gem in a season of mediocrity. Visit any site where adults read news and Bowersox support and finale disappointment is rampant. Of the two finalists, Mama Sox proved herself repeatedly throughout the season as the better vocalist, musician, and performer. I wish them both luck (though I suspect only one of them will need it) as I eagerly anticipate news of Crystal's new album release date. Lee will not pack audiences, is absolutely forgettable, and will be the whats-his-name face of Ford commercials in no time.
Seriously, I'n still in shock..that guy has won over Crystal? Worlds colliding...sheesh.
Sure, he's lovable, squeezable, to some irresistible,(maybe to CB?) but to my sensory system, Crystal was robbed a bit.
but....
I'm HOPIN' that the "love" fest that was exchanged at the end of the show between the two of them, blossoms. It'd be cool to watch them grow old and deeper in the lovelies together.
the whole thing slightly reminded me of season 8? like when Daughtry left early...and who went on to win? I don't remember. I looked it up, McFee or McGee...McIck. I think it's season 8? maybe 7. I'm old.
Lee might have some longevity, but, Crystal, is eternal.
I'm super excited Lee won. If everybody wanted Crystal to win so bad they would have voted more. Same with Adam Lambert if people wanted him to win so bad they would have voted more so stop complaining. I think Lee and Kris were the best and I guess so did America.
People that don't like Lee and think Crystal should've won, just STOP POSTING HERE! go to Crystal's pages and support her but don't bash Lee! He really deserved the title in my opinion and in many other people's opinions because he won. If he was as bad as you say he is he wouldn't be where he is rigth now! just deal with it HE IS A GREAT SINGER, PERFORMER AND ARTIST AND HE WILL GO FAAAR! And btw i don't think Crystal would like to see her fans bashing on Lee since they're really good friends. I know they're both be succesful and we will here about them because they're both GREAT! i just happen to like Lee's voice, style and personality more than Crystal's so i'm more than happy that LEE WON!!
Ok here's the thing.
STOP WITH THE FRICKEN HATE.
Music is subjective. Meaning who might be terrible to you may be wonderful to someone else. OKAY you like Crystal....fantastic. I do too. But I also liked Lee. How about instead of saying what is wrong with the winner, you say what was right, and if thats to hard for America to do, then say what was right with Crystal.
I have no clue why the first instinct of Crystal lover, (same as adam lovers from last year) is to trash the victory of someone who is finally happy and accomplished a goal. Its like If you finially achieved a dream and than someone tells you how horrible you are. KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. HAVE YOU LEARNED ANY THING FROM YOUR PARENTS (if you have nothing nice to say dont say it at all) All Im saying is they were both great. Get over the sore loser attitude. Im not trying to be mean, I agree crystal should have won. I voted for her and wanted her to, but Im not about to deject the win of someone who was so huble about it. What people tend to forget is the whole world does not have one set of ears. You have to take into consideration age, style, attitude, rasp, etc. All im saying is lets not have a re-run of last year, let the man enjoy his victory, they'll both have fantastic careers.
Crystal is talented but Lee is also talented and more commercial which is why he won. He has 12 songs right now on the ITUNES top 200, crystal only has 5 which are the songs from the last 2 weeks. No one remembers what she sang prior to that because she picked Janis Joplin type songs. I remember every song that Lee picked.
Hey "someone"...it's a free country, so anyone can post here whether or not you agree with their comments. All musical tastes are highly individual and opinions are just opinions and everyone has a right to express them. I personally liked Crystal better than Lee...but that's not meaning to say she's better than he is. I just prefer her style of music...so stop getting all hot under the collar.
