'American Idol': Crystal Bowersox busking in Chicago station
The "American Idol" finalist has come a long way from her busking roots, but she exhibited talent even back then.
Her voice and guitar skills are pretty much the same, but check out that one-footed move she uses in the first video -- in which she sings "Saved by Grace" -- to open up her guitar case while never missing a note strumming.
It seems that people back then even recognized her talent. Plenty of people can be seen donating to her case.
The second video, in which she covers the Counting Crows' "Round Here," isn't as good. People aren't quite as giving, and the subway train drowns her out on occasion.

Please America get it right this time. Crystal should win if this isn't a fixed show. I find it strange that the judges (Simon shame on you) started pimping Lee so hard. He's not that worthy. They don't want her to win. Why? Because she had the balls to stand up to Simon on his judging her. My best friend is a musican. She said most competitions she's been in were fixed. Judges even tell them this afterwards.

chicago street musicians have a website that includes crystal.
she also sang at a several of local venues, including fitzgerald's and uncommon ground, building up a following at each place. some of her regular audience were people who heard her on the subway platform.
having to beg for insulin outside pharmacies, living in a car before she split for chicago from toledo,issues at home (listen to her song "farmer's daughter"), hard to control diabetes - she kept playing, singing, writing songs that transformed her experience into true art....
she has my deepest respect, both as an artist and as a human being.
Crystal I hope you win. Your a inspiration!! You've obvously paid your dues and then some. Lee is okay. He'll be better when they auto tune his voice in the studios. But Crystal, wow.. She's a gem of a talent ready to go. No need to auto tune her voice. She'll be entertaining to watch. Love her personality. The judges are lame.

WIN BOWERSOX WIN! I will be voting as often as my fingers dialing the phone will let me vote for Crystal. She DESERVES IT AND IS THE BEST SINGER AND TALENT this season. Lee's pretty good, but BOWERSOX ROXS! I hope to wear out the send button.
Simon says he likes Lee because of his story. Somebody needs to tell him about this cuz THIS trumps Lee's Paint-shop stuff anyday. That is, if we are voting based on a back-story.
