'American Idol': Adam Lambert performs 'If I Had You' on 'Ellen'
Adam Lambert shows off his stuff with his latest single "If I Had You" on the Wednesday, May 19 episode of "Ellen."But first, the former "American Idol" finalist discusses his photo shoot for People's Most Beautiful People issue ("That's not my cockatoo") and revisiting the show that made him famous.
Lambert admits he was surprised he was asked back to mentor this season's crop of singers and goes on to say nice things about them.
Then he busted out the dance moves, vocals and star quality that got him the fame in the first place. "If I Had You" has a sort of retro feel to it, but updated, if that makes any sense.

I love Adam! He is so interesting and entertaining! I love his new single, my favorite summer song! Adam always rocks it! I just found out that idol shafted him again, led him into thinking he would be doing the finale and then dumped him saying they had other artists! I guess they are good at eating the hand that fed them for a year! I will never watch that show again, NEVER!
He was fantastic per usual on Ellen! Great performance. That guy is by far the best performer that ever came out of that show. He knows how to strut his stuff.
Oh my gawd. I can't even be succinct about this appearance, but I'll make myself... but let's just say - there is something for everyone in this one fans! If you like the dancers, you're good. If you don't like the dancers, you're still good. If you like the Adommy, you're set. If you like the lesser make up look, you're good. If you like some funked up look, you're good. Etc. Something for everyone in this appearance people. (Wonder if that was thought out and purposeful, lol). And on a more serious, less fan-(atical) note :), this dude has "IT" factor to spare yes, but his vocals are always reliable, and who can't find something to like in that. Don't love the whole Lambert package if you don't want to peeps, but the guy is putting out some good performances and enjoyable music. (See I wasn't succinct lol).
Just WOW!! Adam always delivers!
I just keep waiting for the day when I am no longer completely swept away by the awesomeness of Adam. I am nearly ready to accept that that day will never come. I am also over being embarrassed by my uncontrolled dancing, singing and clapping as I sit here in front of my computer at work, Ha! Ha!
Hereby I declare my undying love for Adam Lambert. He has provided so many happy and fun moments for me since I first layed eyes on him on the Idol stage, he has opened my mind and taught me that love always comes first. No kidding. Thanks to the universe for Adam Lambert!
Ellen, I love you for loving Adam Lambert!
Thank you Ellen for having Adam on your show! I love him since AI 8,he is so sweet and super cute! I love how he is so caring for people arround him and his fans, man with so much positive energy and great work ethic. LOVE THIS ADORABLE MAN!!!!!!!!!
Adam was fantastic on Ellen as always. LOVED his outfit. I love the dancers, I love Adommy, love Monte, Cam, Longineu...love it all! Love Adam's Mom in the audience and how Ellen gushes over Adam. Can't wait to get home so I can watch it on my TV.
Roni, I don't think it was like that at all (about Adam not being on the Idol finale). Maybe it was just a scheduling thing. The only reason Adam even tweeted that is because Longineu told everybody in a ustream that they would be on the Idol finale and then retracted it on Twitter. Maybe it wasn't finalized, maybe Adam has a scheduling conflict, who knows. He was just on Idol a few weeks ago and I know he was hoping to make another appearance on Idol (as were his fans and I'm one of them)...but in my opinion the Idol producers probably really feel a need to pimp Kris Allen bigtime on the finale to justify his title and Adam being there would definitely overshadow that. If Idol needs to throw anybody a bone it's Kris, not Adam. Adam's on The Tonight Show this Friday night too! Can't wait!
Adam is one of the best performers in recent years! Idol seemed so blah this year, because it is a "competition". Last year Adam made each and every show a "performance"! It was like he gave a concert each week. He was by and far the "winner" even if Kris Allen was given the title!
