'American Idol': Adam Lambert not asked to perform for finale, on vocal rest

Apparently Adam Lambert was missing from the Simon Cowell tribute during the "American Idol" Season 9 finale because he was not asked to perform and is resting up for his upcoming Glam Nation tour.PopEater was reporting Wednesday, May 26 that Lambert's absence was due to him skipping rehearsals, leaving production wondering if he was planning something less than family-friendly. But Adam took to Twitter to clear it all up. He tweets:
- Would have loved 2 have been at the Idol Finale to wish Simon farewell and support the finalists, but this tour for my fans is my priority.
- HAHA. I have now just been made aware of more gossip and rumormill: First of all, i was never asked to appear on the finale in any capacity.
- 2nd: I DID come down w a throat bug most likely caught on my flight back from this past weekends' concert in Boston.
- All i ever heard was:"you've not been asked to perform on finale.Would you like to sit in the audience?" Me:sorry-Too much work to do today.
Idol Tracker is also reporting that Glambert's rep says he is indeed on vocal rest. It still seems a bit weird that he wasn't "asked to appear on the finale in any capacity." Does that include the Simon tribute or not?
Either way, this clears up the Glambert mystery as to why he was not in attendance. And if you wondering about David Cook, the only winner to be absent, he was at a charity event in Kansas City that he didn't want to cancel.

Okay, so now are you going to run stories about why Clay Aiken wasn't there, how about Katherine McPhee... how about other high (top 5) former AI placers - could be mistaken as I was only half paying attention because the show was so lackluster - but don't think I saw Kim Locke, Sayesha Mercado, LaToya London... and what about Daughtry or Jennifer Hudson... anyone with a functioning brain knows that they would have not shown up to just stand in the former contestants line-up (whether that is good or bad, high and mighty or not, is another issue, but that "game" is part of their biz and prevalent all the time - report on them). This site is feeling the need to cleanse itself from their former report. Hey, I'm a Kris Allen fan, Lambert's crazy talented but I'm more of a singer/songwriter type, so I don't really care from that angle of defending him (only checking out the online buzz about finale cuz I wanted to see if it was positive towards Lee or not, that's why I'm online) but I can still recognize when it's all about creating hits just like anyone else with a functioning brain... and sometimes one just feels the need to take a minute and submit a comment when the BS is too much to take. Good luck to Crystal and Lee this coming year.
