TV ratings: 'American Idol,' 'Glee' hold off CBS Tuesday
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, April 27, 2010"American Idol" dipped a little more in the ratings Tuesday, but it and "Glee" were still big enough to carry FOX to a win against original competition from CBS.
In total viewers, though, the contest was closer than it's been for some time. FOX led with 15.7 million viewers and a 9.1 rating/14 share in households, but CBS (14.5 million, 9.2/15) was not far behind. ABC (7.6 million, 5.0/8) came in third, followed by NBC (6.9 million, 4.3/7). The CW was well back with 1.3 million viewers and a 0.9/1.
FOX scored a much bigger victory in the 18-49 demographic -- its 5.9 rating more than doubled CBS' 2.9. NBC finished third at 2.7. ABC averaged 2.0 and The CW a modest 0.6.

i guess v will be axed based on the poor ratings 4 a high budget show, it's on what leno averaged.
It is safe to assume from the ratings, that 'V' won't be back next season...

Cool Life Unexpected got 1 million viewers on such a difficult night. Isn't that pretty much matching what Melrose Place got with their new episodes?
1 million viewers on Life UneXpected is pretty good for a rerun. Especially since its going up against brand new tv shows. GO LUX!
Life Unexpected is a fun show, I hope they bring it back. Shiri is great.
Good Night for CBS, 14.5 million vs Fox 15.7, great job against American idol.
ABC,NBC and CW far behind fighting for the last place.
V definitely should be cancelled, LOST , Thank God is the last season!!!
American Idol's ratings dipped b/c Tim Urban is gone! But Glee was awesome as always!!!
I wanted to like this new version of "V", but there are no likeable characters and no conflict. Each week, nothing happens. Didn't watch last night, but can safely guess that it was 60 minutes of non-interesting exposition and little else.
@Rick: Very well done! You've highlighted what is the real story of yesterday's ratings race, which is that for the first time since American Idol debuted FOX is close to not winning the night.
The erosion of Idol's ratings is now quite palpable to all and CBS threatens, even with NCIS and NCIS:LA dipping markedly too.
Glee dipped too since its ratings are generally 2/3 of AI (which essentially means it's really not a hit - although FOX will hype it as a mega-hit to try and hide how poorly its development season went).
At NBC Parenthood got what can only be described as bad ratings (or as NBC will put it "good"), which must make NBC really happy that it decided to load itself with yet another ratings loser for next season.
Tuesday at 10pm is wide open for the taking, but it doesn't seem anyone wants to take it.
At ABC, I'm surprised they schedule a week without a new Lost episode as it runs contrary to their strategy of not having the low re-runs pull the ratings down for the network.
