'Today's' Meredith Vieira, 'Good Day's' Rosanna Scotto say dirty words on live TV

Both "Today's" Meredith Vieira and "Good Day New York's" Rosanna Scotto did big ol' live TV no-no's this week.

In a "Today" segment on Distractology 101 Friday (April 30) morning, Vieira got so distracted that she let a curse word slip out.

A video game demonstration on how easy it is to get distracted by a cell phone while driving got Vieira flustered. She swerved to miss a car, and let an "Oh s***!" escape from her lips.

Hey, if you can get a big-name long-time TV personality so distracted that she forgets that little no cursing on national television rule -- well, we'd say the video game demo proved its point.

Scotto doesn't exactly have a distraction excuse for her off-color comment.

During a discussion Thursday on the National Milk Producers Federation's assertion that milk should only be labeled "milk" when it comes from an animal -- not soy or rice -- Scotto threw her co-anchors for a loop by suggesting "soy ji***m."

No word yet on if the National Milk Producers Federation is taking Scotto's suggestion into consideration.

Saying the world is flat, does not make it flat.

www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/milk

a liquid resembling milk in appearance: as a: the latex of a plant b: the juice of a coconut composed of liquid endosperm c: the contents of an unripe kernel of grain.

John, thanks for the clarification. the world needs more of that! :)

Two nitwits who don't realize what they're saying on the air, but probably will get off with a fine.

On the Today show one morning, last year I think, Al, Ann, Matt and Meredith got into a discussion about using curse words. Both men seemed to want to change the subject. Meredith was OK with cursing and Ann said cursing "empowered her". I lost a great deal of respect for both women that day.

wtf?

Oh, please. "NYPD Blue" proved years ago that there no longer is any stigma about cursing and nudity on TV. The *only* ones that care a fig about it are the so-called "Moral Majority"...and they have a problem with *everything*. The only people on the planet that take the "MM" even remotely seriously are the numb-nuts at the FCC. Most of the world laughs at how 1500's the US (and Canada, for that matter) are about such things.

People should just grow up. If you don't like what you see/hear on TV, change the bloody channel and leave the rest of us alone so we can *enjoy* life.

Honestly, if you get into an accident or about to you're probably to going to say much worse things than 'oh sh--.'

Rosanna Scotto's coverage of the royal wedding was offensive. She started every sentence like a mobster's moll,.."I'm sorry but..." Greg Kelly had to beg for 20 seconds of silence. Why doesn't she go work at Kleins, as she'd be a head of the game, having gotten the same dress in black 5 years ago. One abrasive comment after another with a tiara on her head! Go back to Brooklyn, classless troll!
