'The Kennedys': Greg Kinnear, Katie Holmes cast as JFK and Jackie

The History Channel has announced the casting for its scripted mini-series "The Kennedys." Greg Kinnear ("As Good As it Gets," "Little Miss Sunshine") and Katie Holmes ("Dawson's Creek," "Batman Begins") will star as President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.Actor Barry Pepper ("Saving Private Ryan," "*61") will play Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, the younger brother to JFK, and actor Tom Wilkinson ("Michael Clayton," "John Adams") will take on the role of Joseph "Joe" Kennedy, Sr., father to John and Robert and 44th United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom under President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of the History Channel, said in a statement, "We could not be more pleased that these incredibly talented actors have agreed to sign onto the miniseries."
"The Kennedys" is the network's first scripted miniseries. Executive Producer Joel Surnow ("Nowhere Man," "24") developed the series with Asylum's Jonathan Koch and Steve Michaels. Steve Kronish is writing the screenplay and Jon Cassar ("Fringe," "24," "Human Target") will direct.
Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes previously played a couple in the 2000 movie "The Gift."

I dont get the hate for Katie Holmes, is she a great actress.....no. I would say she's pretty good and is getting better, and i thought she was way better as Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins than Maggie Gylenhall in The Dark Knight..
Casting Katie Holmes as Jackie O is one huge publicity stunt.
I really like Katie Holmes as an actress. I know the media is saturated with her image, but that does not make her any less of an actress. I'm looking forward to seeing her in this role.
