'So You Think You Can Dance': Nigel Lythgoe names Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell as all-stars

"So You Think You Can Dance" producer Nigel Lythgoe is having some April Fools' fun, naming "American Idol" judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul as new "SYTYCD" all-stars.The new format for "SYTYCD" involves a pool of all-star dancers from past season who will take turns dancing with the Top 10 dancers (instead of a Top 20).
Nigel has been slowly announcing the all-stars, which so far include Twitch (Season 4) and Kathryn (Season 6). But on Thursday, April 1 he announced two more:
"I am delighted to name our third "All-Star" she is brilliant at, Tap, Broadway, Jazz and Hip Hop. She only agreed this morning- PAULA ABDUL."
"He may be leaving "Idol" but he's joining the "AllStars" before his wedding, representing the genres of Wacking and Vogueing- SIMON COWELL."
As far as pranks go, that's a pretty good one. But Nigel did tell us in a conference call on Monday, March 29 in regards to Paula:
She is an absolutely fabulous, caring judge. I don't always understand what she says and I don' t care about that ... she knows exactly what she's talking about in dance terms. I can't think of anybody better than Paula Abdul to judge on this show. Whether she wants to do it or not, whether it's the right time for her to come back as a judge on this show is up to her and her management. I know she loves dancing and I know where her heart is but after that you have to speak in business terms. She and her management will have to decide. But I certainly would love her. I HOPE THIS IS TRUE AND NOT A RUMOR. I LOVE PAULA ABDUL AND SIMON AND I MISS 'SAULA' SO MUCH! this is like a dream come true IF this is true. is it? is it? is it? is it? is it? i know i'm kinda going crazy but american idol has been so dull and i dunno what without Paula and Simon. it was so funny how they argued but it was so obvious that simon wanted to date paula. he shoulda just asked her but owell he's engaged now.
Nigel, first, I've been telling you to get Paula FROM-DAY-ONE!
Second, Mary is this shows version of Paula, and you pretty much had her demoted.
You said you didn't want it to be about the judges then you go way out of your way to court the most famous one - Paula. WTF?
Bring Mary AND Paula. They'll be able to balance out Mia's randomly bitchy rants.
Adam should be only a guest judge before too much judging turns him into the mean spirited entitled thing that Mia is becoming (and getting worse).
