Report: Conan O'Brien will appear on '60 Minutes', wants old NBC set back

conan-obrien-getty-320.jpgDespite the obvious tension between Conan O'Brien and NBC, Coco is reportedly hoping to return to NBC Studios to tape his new late night TBS show from his old set. An insider tells HollywoodLife that Conan felt comfortable in the studio where he recorded "The Tonight Show."

"Conan considers the NBC building home," says the source. "He's hoping to make a deal to return. The building already has so much history, and he wants to make 'new history' with it."

Conan may not get his wish, though, because TBS has already secured studio space for Conan near George Lopez' studio on the Warner Bros. lot. The source says that working in close proximity will "make their late-night bond that much stronger."

Conan's new show is set to debut in November, but fans won't have to wait that long to see him on TV. His NBC contract forbids him from appearing on television until May 1, so Conan has booked an interview on "60 Minutes" for May 2 according to The Wrap.

Conan is contractually obligated to refrain from disparaging NBC and Jay Leno, but he will be able to discuss his exit from NBC when he speaks with "60 Minutes" correspondent Steve Kroft. Because of his TV embargo, "60 Minutes" won't be able to use Conan's likeness to promote his appearance until May 1.

"I think we'll just show me talking to him and have to blank his face out," Kroft says.

he needs to get over it and move on

He's over it, and he's moved on. Whenever you have a NEW SHOW (the one on TBS coming this November), you do press for it. May 1st is the earliest he's contractually allowed to do it. The fans (me and rest) have not had our TV Conan fix in 3 months now. Any Conan is good Conan. So let "60 Minutes" ask what they want. I'm sure Conan will answer any questions he's allowed to answer.

He's not over it if he wants his TTS set back. but whatever. i don't watch late night tv anyways. i'm tired of this late night drama. and by the way WHERE THE FRACK DID I SAY HE COULDN'T GO ON 60 MINUTES YOU IGNORE TOAD.

November! Arrgghh!! Too long. I guess I can continue to watch his web episode of 'Between 2 Ferns' over and over.
I'd love to see him in his last studio. After a while, it would be like he never left.

www.thatvidspot.com NBC might allow him to have the studio back, but as the story says TBS secured him a studio and besides that I can't imagine NBC would want him to basically have the tonight show on TBS. Which he essentially would have if they gave him the set back it would just have a different name.

As I just read what I wrote. Yeah no way NBC is giving him his set back. http://www.thatvidspot.com
