'NCIS': Will Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette be back?
"NCIS" became the most-watched scripted show on TV this season, and its fans will tell you that a big reason for that is the chemistry among its ensemble. But at the moment, it's an open question how many members of that ensemble will be back next season. The contracts for regulars Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray and David McCallum are all up after this season, and according to Deadline.com, CBS TV Studios, which produces the show, is playing hardball in negotiating new deals.
McCallum has struck a deal to return next season, but as of Friday morning (April 30) Weatherly, Perrette and Murray aren't signed for Season 8. Deadline characterizes the studio's offers to the three actors as "pretty low-ball." This despite the fact that "NCIS" is averaging almost 19 million viewers a week this season and a healthy 4.1 rating among adults 18-49.
Lead Mark Harmon, who's also a producer on the series, is already set for next season. Cote de Pablo and Rocky Carroll are also under contract for 2010-11.
CBS will announce its 2010-11 schedule at its upfront presentation on May 19.

More proof that pencil pushers haven't got a clue. I already know my parents who watch the show religiously will stop watching immediately if any of the regulars leave -- definitely Tony and Abby.
Anyone else think they should negotiate contracts at the beginning of the year? That way if someone decides to walk (I'm being hypothetical because I don't think that'll happen here), the show has enough time to write them out.
I love these two. CBS would be stupid if they didn't give them what they are asking. I believe with them gone, it would kill the show.
Why don't they have contract negotions at the beginning of the year? That way, if someone decides not to stay, they can be written out at season's end.
I don't see that happening here. I'm just being hypothetical.
They have to come back, or the show will definatly fall. Abby and Tony along with Gibbs make NCIS what it is.
I suppose that when they reach an agreement for Sean, Michael y Pauley it'll be for more that one year, so next year we'll have to ask the same questions for Rocky and Cote, whose contracts end next year. >.
Anyway, I do know that if any of them goes, I don't think the show it'll last. Sure they did it with Sasha's and Lauren's characters, but Sasha's was in the beginning and Lauren's wasn't in all the episodes.
They remove a main/favorite character NOW, at this point and I Do think the show will suffer.
I highly doubt they will let Pauley Perrette go since she is the face of NCIS with Mark Harmon. I've always wondered how long Michael W. would be on. He's at the age where he probably should be heading his own team anyway. Can't make Tony an idiot forever.
As much as I do like the characters and actors, they should be damn lucky to have a job!
Tony not a idiot he a american now Ziva who kill Kate she a idiot
I want them all to stay escape Plamer and Ziva they need to go
I'm surprised to hear that Pauley Perrette hasn't signed on yet. From practically every interview I've read, she's always saying how much she loves her job.
