'Melrose Place' finale pics: Is this the last we'll see of them?

"Melrose Place" airs its Season 1 finale on Tuesday, April 13. While some of us at Zap2it are still hoping for a miracle, the likelihood of a Season 2 is getting more dubious by the day, so this may be your last chance to see long time favorites like Amanda Woodard (Heather Locklear) and Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton).
Yes, Laura Leighton is back, as confirmed by the photos below. It's possible that she's returning for another flashback, but since Sydney appears to be sitting in the WPK offices, we're guessing that it's some kind of dream or vision of Amanda's.
Last week, Amanda fired Ella (Katie Cassidy) after setting her up to be busted for embezzlement. If anyone can out-blackmail Amanda Woodward, though, it's our girl Ella, so we're sure she won't go down without a fight.

I'd be bummed if MP gets canceled, but man, this has been such a gift to fans. The whole show was 18 episodes of icing. I wasn't expecting more than maybe a DirectTV ad with Heather Locklear.. but bringing the whole show back?! with Syndey!? and Jo?! and seeing Jane end up a bitter, talentless loser like we all started to suspect she was?! Just goes to show you life is full of unexpected surprises.
Maybe if they found another night besides the night Dancing with the Star and American Idol is on. Those are the top shows for that demographic and putting a show that is new up against shows that have already grabbed that age range it's intended for is a set up for failure! I wish they would make a summer schedule and not the fall, so we have something good while everything else is in reruns. I hear Rob Estes is coming so I hope for a second season. Hell Melrose Place originally didn't pick up until the second season.

What happened to Lexi Sterling? Please give it a second season and get Lexi, Kyle, Taylor and Peter back as well. We want Melrose Place! I love this show. It needs to get even more bitchier.. just remember season 5 and 7 of the original. Lexi destroying Amandas company, taking over the appartment complex, Eve ending in jail dressed as a cheerleader acting as the new Kimberly.. Please theCW give us a second season of Melrose Place - but not against American Idol or Dancing with the stars..
Jamie Lunar (Lexi) is playing Liza on All My Children now. I don't think she'd be leaving AMC to fill out a second season of Melrose Place.
The show was a train wreck. My wife and I watched up until the hiatus, but we had no desire to pick it back up. Michael stale wife killed Sydney? Slap in the face to fans. Boring. The entire "Who Killed Sydney?" mystery was poorly written and a dud of a storyline to begin the show with. The only character that was half fun, and I'm serious, was Violet. I liked Auggie too. It had a chance, but the writers weren't dedicated. I really wish Mark Schwann (One Tree Hill) would have been a part of Melrose Place like early speculation; I think he would have created more interesting characters and smarter storylines for the series.
I'm sorry; I wanted to be a fan of this show, but it just didn't work out. And to those saying that it's "so much better now," then maybe they should have started here because the awfulness of the early part of the season is just embarrassing to television history.
I hope so too! Melrose Place is the best show on the CW *******!
Give it another shot in another timeslot. Pair it with One Tree Hill and pair Gossip Girl with 90210 ;)
The CW just must hate me! They killed Veronica Mars WAYYYY too early, and never gave Melrose a chance... Just because it had a title that people were familiar with doesn't mean they were gonna leave the #1 and #2 highest rated shows on TV to watch it. The last four or five episodes have really turned a corner - and are definetly more true to the original series than the first 13.
I think the show would have done much better had Jane been dead in the pool in the first episode and Sydney coming back to give Amanda a run for the money while dealing with Ella as well. They can do that when they bring the show back in ten years as Melrose 3.0
I think the show also suffered from no theme song. I realize time is money, but even 30 seconds of a theme song to bring back that classic theme of Melrose would have been great and set the mood (but not in a crappy way like they did with the 2nd season on 90210 2.0)
Ella, David, Jonah (ahh sweet hairy Jonah!)and the new Dr. Ihavenoplot are great characters with plenty of stories to be told. Riley and Lauren are pretty boring and could have drowned in the pool and no one would have noticed or cared. Bring back googely eyed Violet - that ***** barely had a chance to get her crazy on! How hot would her and Ella be together? This show also needs a gay guy to get all up in er'one's business!
This all being said, I love where the show is at right now and can be happy tomorrow night knowing that for at least 5 episodes I got to see some old friends and make some new ones and realize that my life in Iowa is never going to be as crazy as this!
