'Marriage Ref,' 'Who Do You Think' get second seasons

NBC has picked up the Jerry Seinfeld-produced unscripted show, along with the game show "Minute to Win It" and the celebrity-genealogy series "Who Do You Think You Are?," for 2010-11. The three shows join the network's Thursday comedies in the safe column for next season.

In announcing the pickups, NBC's head of alternative programming, Paul Telegdy, says each show "has a compelling and innovative format, and a second season will allow these shows to grow creatively and attract an even wider audience."

"The Marriage Ref" is the most-watched of the three, although in its regular Thursday timeslot it's averaged a modest 7.2 million viewers a week. More important to NBC, though, it does well among "upscale" viewers: The network says "Ref" ranks in the top 10 among adults 18-49 with six-figure household incomes.

"Who Do You Think You Are?," executive produced by former "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow, has averaged 6.8 million viewers on Fridays since its March premiere, typically finishing second in its timeslot to CBS' "Ghost Whisperer" (although it did lead its hour among adults 18-49 last week). "Minute to Win It" draws 6 million viewers a week.

Are you kidding me? This show has gotten worse by the episode..shows just HOW DESPERATE NBC IS.

I found Who Do You Think You Are? to be an interesting show but I have no plans to tune in regularly. The Marriage Ref was funny when Larry David was on it, but I'm only interested in viewing if it has a guest panelist that I'm interesting in seeing. I have no interest to watch Minute To Win It. It sounds like a Beat The Clock remake but with a Ke$ha theme (at least as far as the commercials go). I'm still waiting for NBC to renew Chuck. Chuck's numbers probably wouldn't allow it to survive on CBS, FOX or ABC... but it should be safe on NBC for another season. It needs a better pairing next season though because Trauma isn't it.

Jerry Seinfeld has to be THE biggest ******* there is next to Jeff Zucker and you wonder why this network will now be in danger of finishing in 5th place overall next season? This is desperation moves at NBC's end. Wow, has this network really stooped to an all-time low now!

if NBC renews this crap then CHUCK has to come back, if not then NBC is showing everyone what a joke they are.

Seinfeld is $jewish, he gets what he wants.

So happy that WDYTYA is coming back! All the versions of the show are really fascinating - especially for those of us actively involving in tracing our family trees.

Just heard Minute to Win It got picked up for a second season. I'm excited, I thought it was a great
show that probably appealed to a lot of different types of people.

Why would they renew this show? The ratings have gotten lower and lower every week since it started.

If Chuck and L&O don't get picked up for this junk...I'll cry.

These sows are coming back because they cost nothing. NBC does not have to pay writers, actors, etc.
