'Happy Town': Can we talk about it?
Did you catch the premiere of "Happy Town" Wednesday night?There's a lot going on in that picturesque little place, with its sheriff going off the deep end, its town weirdo getting murdered and two mysterious strangers -- who both clearly have some hidden agenda -- charming the pants off the adorable old resident widows.
But I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of digging it. It was a fun watch, no?
Hanging out in the town -- Haplin, Minnesota -- is like wrapping yourself in a cozy, little blanket with its bread factory and quaint storefronts surrounded by beautiful fall colors. But the intrigue of the dark and mysterious elements lurking just beneath the surface adds a whole other element.
Sure, there are some issues. The murder scene up front was way cheesy. I'll never understand people's fascination with the man-getting-tortured-begging-for-his-life-followed-by-blood-splattering-everywhere scene. It's been done.
But I'm into the characters and really kind of want to know what comes next. Who is Chloe? What is her connection to the sheriff? And what's on that third floor?
I guess I'll be watching next week.

I enjoyed it, I'm going to be tuning in next week. It kind of reminded me of Harper's Island. A good little murder mystery show for the summer.
I haven't heard dialogue this bad since October Road. Oh, wait, I wonder why. At least it will last about as long.
LOVED IT!!!!! IT does remind me of Harpers Island (which I also loved) Cant wait until next week....at last a show I cant wait to watch each week! I just hope ABC doesnt pull it before we get all the answers we are seeking...until next week.
Give it a chance for crying out loud!! If, after 3-4 episodes it stinks, then turn it off......
Watched 10 minutes of it and then switched over to better programming. Won't be watching this trash
I enjoyed it! Even though ratings were not so good I hope ABC can keep it on and let the producers end it in a good way!!!

I LOVED it ---- finally a show I can look forward to each week - reminded me of Twin Peaks. Loved teh characters!
yeah, some of the dialogue was a little off and a few real oddball characters, but Sam Neill and Lauren German just captivated me. Her piece at the end about being Chloe, the tattoo, it all was just fantastic. If the other characters have not gotten more interesting and the dialogue does not flow better by 3 or 4 episodes, it will be disappointing. The mystery of it all will keep me coming back for now.
No season pass here. I don't want to invest my time into half a story that will most likely end up getting canceled without ending properly. I'll wait until I know it has an ending.
