'Gossip Girl': Should Blair have forgiven Chuck?

ed-westwick-gossip-girl-320.jpg

So Chuck pretty much put his girlfriend in a position where she felt compelled to sleep with his uncle in order to save him.

So what?!

Just kidding. Though in the fantasy world of "Gossip Girl" and the fictional Upper East Side, it is difficult to wrap one's head around which offenses are forgivable and which are worthy of ending a relationship.

Should Chuck and Blair be over, because of what transpired?

Or should B simply get over herself?

I think they should take a break because of what transpired. It is without a doubt that they love each other deeply but they need to learn to set boundaries of what is acceptable. I think this time apart will help them become better individuals. From what transpired on the latest episode, it also looks like Blair needed to get over forgiving herself for what she was willing to do for the guy she loves. Meanwhile, Chuck needs to learn that no matter how much a person loves you or how much you love a person, saying sorry is just not enough. They both need time to think things over. Hopefully they will both come out of this as more mature adults and leave the game behind.

FTR, I've always been against Chuck and Blair from the beginning of the show. Chuck is an attempted rapist for ___'s (fill in "f" or "G" word - preference is your's) sake.

That act made his character irredeemable in my eyes.

Clearly the show's producers/honchos don't feel the same way and have made it clear that they view Chuck/Blair the same way that the Friends' higher ups viewed Ross/Rachel.

Unfortunately, the show is completely scattered right now in terms of its overall direction and there doesn't seem to be a clear path that they know they want to go on/end up at in any storyline. Makes it frustrating to watch at times.

Lastly, the fact that Lily was at Serena's father's place was hardly a surprise (at least to me).

Sorry for talking about more than the original topic, but w/o the recap being done here (the tv without pity recap page doesn't allow comments), just wanted to add thoughts on the show (after it aired in the US - even though I saw it Sunday, I was nice enough to not spoil events of the episode for those who wouldn't have had a chance to see it yet and still read/participate here on KTV).

Thank you for your sharing!

She should forgive him. In like a year.

I think Blair deserves better than Chuck can offer in true love department. She wants simple uncomplicated honest love of a good man who she can build up and make a great man. Blair needs a project man in her life.

Korbi, are you serious with this 'oh Blair should get over herself, so he whored her out, who cares, it's Chuck?' That's almost as disturbing as what went down on the show.

I still am shipping them because I don't really believe that Chuck would do that, but I see much more trivializing of it, I'm done.

They should take some time apart but bottom line- these two belong together. They always will. They are this show's OTP and will get through this. Also, some apparently missed the point of last night and what Blair said. She was ashamed because SHE chose to go to Jack. Was Chuck wrong- yes, but let's be real, Blair specifically said SHE went up there willingly. It was done because she loves Chuck and I agree with what she said- you can love someone too much. They need time. I have no doubt they'll get back together.

Let us be honest, these two have a dance that will never end, and I for one am enjoying it. They belong together, they complete one another. I dont like the nature of the storyline, I think it was a last resort in the field of the writers to bring scandal into their lives but I'm sure they will 'fix' it by season's end.

I cried as if someone had died when I watched this episode! Chuck and Blair belong together.
The whole story of Chuck being the play boy and then unsuspectedly falling in love with Blair is ace!
The best part of Gossip Girl is these as a couple.
I seriously hope they work it out because I felt like Blair and Chuck were dumping me lol

If they don't get back together I don't think I'll be able to watch the season anymore since Jenny is getting super annoying and Serena is depressing to watch.
