“Glee” girl Quinn Fabray has given birth to her baby, my friends.

Mazel Tov!

Yes, the filming of the “Glee” finale wrapped Monday (Apr. 26) and instead of going straight to the bar for celebratory drinks and cigars, the cast and producers headed to North Hollywood for an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences event.

The major theme on the carpet?

Everyone wanted to know if the producers will consider having Britney Spears on the show.

Brit Brit’s manager has launched a campaign via Twitter, a fact that has not been lost on the genius minds behind “Glee.”

In the clip below, Brad Falchuk and Dante Di Loreto weigh in on the subject.

“The stories always come first and we need to start breaking those stories next week and figuring out what the episodes are for Season 2 and we’re very intrigued by Britney, she’s a pop icon, so it’s hard not to perk your ears up when she comes a calling,” says Falchuk.

So, yeah, in case that wasn’t clear, they’re most definitely considering a Britney Spears “Glee” appearance.

For more on Brit, the show’s wild success and what’s going down in the finale (besides Quinn’s delivery of course)…

Any thoughts?

Would you guys want to see Britney Spears do “Glee”?

And if so, song ideas?

Should she play herself?

I'm not sure about this. I think too many of these 'special event' episodes (like Madonna last week) will drag down the appeal of Glee. I'm afraid they're going to change the focus of the show from this lovable group of quirky misfits (students and teachers) who find themselves, and each other, in the music. Instead we're going to start focusing too much on the music itself and not enough on the characters. Please, writers and creators of the show, keep the characters at the center of the show, not the 'theme of the week' or 'performer of the week'. I'm already getting a little tired of the big production numbers (singing down the hall, imagining yourself on stage, etc) and miss those personality-driven songs in the choir room. I challenge anyone to go back and watch the Madonna episode and compare the 'big' numbers versus the more intimate songs between characters. Those 'smaller' songs are going to stand the test of time when revisiting these episodes. I actually thought while watching the Vogue video last week that, while original and entertaining, it would have been better had I not already seen it as a preview the week before. The appeal was seeing it the first time-after that it's just not the same. The songs that don't have the big production but find their heart in how they fit the storyline are the songs that will not lose their appeal and that will carry the show.

I guess that's my long answer to the question of having a Britney(or anyone else)-centric episode. The short answer, no.
