'Glee' cast shoots 'Oprah,' preps for Obama
Gleeks, prepare yourselves. The cast of "Glee" has met with Oprah Winfrey, and it was something to sing about. The cast was all a-Twitter over Easter weekend before and after shooting the "Oprah Winfrey" show.
"I can't believe I'm going to meet Oprah tomorrow! So excited! So lucky! If you see little bumps on my arms it'll be from pinching myself," tweeted Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt.
The cast arrived in Chicago Friday, April 2 and went through technical testing, no doubt to test the sound levels for a show-stopping performance to be enjoyed by Winfrey's lucky audience members. After a good night's sleep, they shot their episode and couldn't keep their excitement to themselves afterward.
A sampling of tweets:
"Oprah. Some of the most magical hours we've has together. Proud of our Glee family, the steps we've taken and many, many thanks to Lady O." -- Dianna Agron, who plays Quinn.
"In Chicago! Just taped OPRAH! She was so nice and we had such a blast. Now off to lunch with @alittlelamb @ijennaush and @msamberriley:)" -- Lea Michele, who plays Rachel.
"just rocked the oprah winfrey show! my first live singing performance, ever. oh man that was awesome." -- Cory Monteith, who plays Finn.
"Oprah.Dzown. Still high from the adrenaline! So incredibly proud of every one! It was so fun! Oprah and are getting married now. I love her." -- Kevin McHale, who plays Artie.
"What an adrenaline rush!!! AMAZING time with the gleeks. Thank you oprah!!! :)" -- Jenna Ushkowitz, who plays Tina.
The cast is next headed to Washington, D.C. to perform for President Obama and company for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.
While Agron tweeted that the honor "still hasn't sunk in," and Dijon Talton was excited to see "Uncle Obama," McHale was more nervous at the prospect of meeting the legendary author of the "Harry Potter" novels.
"ok, i just heard that JK Rowling will be at the white house easter egg roll," he tweeted. "im going to make a fool of myself...o no."
The cast of "Glee" has come a long way since its humble beginnings touring Hot Topic stores in malls and getting uninvited from the Thanksgiving Day parade. Besides visiting Oprah Winfrey and the White House, the cast will participate in a four-city tour in May.

Word of advice to the Glee cast members: Say nothing about taxes in any conversation with the president.
He'll meander on for about seventeen minutes and 2500 words without saying anything new if you do, boring everyone to tears in the process.
Word of advice to the Glee: enjoy your visit to this Nation's Capitol, it's always an honor to be a guest at the White House no matter who is President. One more word of advice: ignore post by people like snicker.
Have a blast cast! Thank goodness you didn't have to visit the White House when Bubba Bush was there!
