George Lopez welcomes Conan into his 'deep, loving embrace'
Conan O'Brien made a triumphant return to late-night TV Monday -- in a manner of speaking.George Lopez, whom Conan will bump from 11 p.m. to midnight come November, welcomed O'Brien to the TBS fold by opening "Lopez Tonight" with shots from Conan's running-across-the-country "Tonight Show" opening, intercut with shots of Lopez running through L.A. and in front of fake backdrops. The bit ended with Lopez superimposing himself alongside O'Brien and the caption "November 2010."
"I want to say this -- I want to say that I am completely, 100 percent on board with this move," Lopez said during his monologue. "I talked to Conan on Wednesday and I talked to him last night, and I said I welcome you into my deep, loving embrace."
Later, Lopez took one of O'Brien's signature "Late Night" bits and used it to "interview" his new colleague -- or rather, talk to a still photo of O'Brien with someone else's mouth doing the talking.
"We're gonna be like a classic TV team," fake Conan said. To which Lopez replied, "A Latino and a redhead -- it's worked before. Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball. ... A same-sex Lucy and Ricky." Fake Conan: "We got some 'splaining to do!"
Take a listen to Lopez's monologue from Monday night.
And here's the running-men bit, followed by the fake interview.

what u going to do leno when conan runs wild on you
Neither of these Media darlings is funny.
Lopez is a racist and Conan is sooo dumb and infantile.
Dumbing down America.
Where failed comics go to die cable.
The good thing is now O'Brien will run head to head with Stewart and Colbert. Hopefully, the competition will throw all of them into a death spiral of declining ratings.
lol NBC to TBS what a great career move Conan has done for himself. Let's go from a network who has been around since TV was invented, and was then a radio network before, to a network who's claim to fame is airing Atlanta Braves baseball games... WOOOOOOOO!
After the nightly fit he had during his final day on the "Tonight Show", I don't know if I should feel sorry for him. He got screwed at NBC, but may have over did it with all the crying.
What a bunch of deluded losers. Conan is going to rock TBS to ratings and critical heights.
It's going to be so good, I can't even wait for the promos O'Brien and Lopez do together. So much comedic potential... So little time...
Go Team LoCo!!!
