'Dancing With the Stars': Shannen Doherty on her 'surprising' exit on 'Regis and Kelly'
"Dancing With the Stars" castoff Shannen Doherty might have skipped out on an invite to "Jimmy Kimmel Live," but she decided to show up for her scheduled appearance on "Live With Regis and Kelly."Although Regis Philbin was without his usual sidekick -- in her place was "DWTS" judge, Carrie Ann Inaba.
"I have to tell you, after all the seasons we've done, your elimination was the most surprising," Inaba told Doherty and her "DWTS" pro partner Mark Ballas. The judge even added that Doherty's exit was so shocking that she texted someone, "How did that happen?"
Philbin then put Doherty on the spot, asking her, "Don't you think you danced better than [Pamela Anderson and her partner]?" Anderson was of course the other star in the hot seat on elimination night, and the first sent to the Bottom Two at the beginning of the show.
Doherty decided to keep it classy, responding, "I think that everybody on the show brings something incredibly unique and different to it."
The star of "90210" fame did (briefly) address the "10 million conspiracy theories" circulating on the web that the show is rigged to keep the ratings-drawing lead-footed Kate Gosselin on-board. Doherty acknowledged the existence of the theories, but kept tight-lipped when Regis kept prodding her.
Philbin decided to blame the judges for her boot -- namely "that little Italian guy."

Who is the genius that decides who is on the show?? You would knowingly put a 80 yr. person to compete, when clearly walking and moving are a feat in itself. I'm not a fan of Shannon's, but
she did a hell of a lot better than dear old Buzz. Then everyone has to be polite to him when judging him because of his fame. Why embarass him like this?? Leave this legend in space not on the dance floor. Are you executives really this STUPID??? Count me out for rest of the season. Springer, where are you???????
The show is about popularity and people just don't like Shannen Doherty. If it were dancing skill that mattered, she would still be on the show.
Honestly, even though I've been watching the show, channel surfing has become my friend - just not that interesting this year... The headline grabbed my attention, because I didn't even know she was on the show and must have been in the middle of channel surfing when she danced! lol
