'Dancing With the Stars': Niecy Nash and Pamela Anderson dance for causes
On Monday (April 5) night's "Dancing With the Stars," Niecy Nash and Pamela Anderson both danced in the name of a bigger cause.Niecy Nash took the stage with Louis Van Amstel to dance a waltz in the characters of an interracial couple from half a century ago -- when the law didn't allow marriage between such couples.
Nash teared up in rehearsals when she imagined not being able to be with the person she loves because a law said so. For Van Amstel, who is openly gay, the issue is current and personal. When co-host Brooke Burke asked Van Amstel what the dance meant to him, he replied that he "wanted to celebrate how far we've come in the last 40 years ... everyone should be able to get married."
Pamela Anderson, long-time animal activist, got assigned the paso doble (a dance modeled after the the Spanish bullfight) for Monday's performance. The actress jumped at the chance to speak out against bullfighting, and she and partner Damian Whitewood named their paso doble "Dance, Don't Bullfight." Anderson even got a visit from actress/singer and fellow anti-bullfighting activist Charo, who showed her some Flamenco moves that put a little extra spice in her step.
And it turns out that both Nash and Anderson got 7s across the board from the judges. Perhaps a sign that both their causes have luck on their side?

Pam didn't do so good this week, seemed like she was being tossed around quite a bit and had problems landing the steps. http://www.baduku.com/dwts10
What is the name of the song that Louie and Niecy danced to on April 5?
What on earth is Kate Gosselin doing on this show? They have wasted the talents of her partner who is a kind, highly respected dance professional. What's next? Octomom?
I really felt sorry for Buzz's partner who has to work very hard to keep him in the game and she looked really sad after the reviews and scores.
Congratulations Louis and Niecy! gay marriage is a civil right and will overcome prop 8 and the horrid bigotry that people that are killing this country with their right wing hatred against our president and the rights that our constitution provides!!!
FREEDOM!!!
We and millions are voting for you...a loving, rich , caring, gay couple of 30 years!
Oh, I am so sick of these behind the scenes video insights where everyone is crying for whatever reason; anything and everything anymore.
This is supposed to be a fun, upbeat show-celebrity dancers should leave the baggage in their therapists' office for their own time, I don't want to see it brought up as a remote cause for two left feet or dance failure.
Cry babies seem to be a trend on every reality show these days.
We look like a nation of whimps!
At least the Bachelor has not cried on DWTS -he got it all out of his system ad nauseum on the Bachelor.
We were all tired of that by the end of the Bachelor this time!
Can the producers ask Kate not to do the weird hand gestures during the introductions of the show?
Too creepy.
This is the kind of fallacy being propagated in the media. What do these deliberately obtuse, disingenuous people mean by, "everyone should be able to get married"? Everyone IS allowed to get married! Every single man in this country can, in fact, marry any single woman of his/her choice. That's what marriage is: the union of one man, one woman! Anything else is NOT marriage. Gays can call their unions whatever name they wish...not marriage.
@Ruth: The song was "With You I'm Born Again," (Bill Withers and Syreeta Wright).
Kate says she's doing DWTS because her family needs the money! She should be ashamed for saying that after spending $7000 on hair and who knows what she spends on those mani-pedis and tanning? I feel bad for Tony.
Anderson is trying to look too seductive instead of trying to dance. She comes off on both a bg zero!!!
Stop being so mean and hateful, Terry.
