Chevy Chase on 'The View': Wife Jayni calls him 'exhausting'

Chevy Chase took some time Wednesday, April 21 to tickle the funny bones of the ladies of "The View."

The first order of business was to get in a dig about Larry King -- "I was sleeping with Larry when that all happened, so I just wouldn't make a big issue of it."

They asked Chevy about the Conan-Leno debacle at NBC and he replied, "Quite honestly, I work for NBC so I don't want to put them down ... But. It's just silly that, I guess it was a business decision, to give Jay Leno that slot, but it killed Conan. And to just give him $34 million ... I'm on Conan's side spiritually and morally, but I'd love the money he got for that too."

That led them to ask him about his own talk show, to which Chevy replied, "Yeah, that did well. Thanks for bringing that up and for asking the question, 'How long was it on?' It was on five weeks and I think I ran away with some money."

Finally, he talked about how he lives in Los Angeles while he's shooting "Community" and his roommate is his 25-year-old daughter Caley, who wants to be an actress. "The View" ladies teased his wife Jayni about being glad he's in L.A. so much and she said, "He's exhausting. He just never stops with the joking and the funny."
