Chad Lowe, Gina Torres join ABC Family; 'Stargate Universe' casts two
The ABC Family is expanding.Chad Lowe and Gina Torres are the latest names to join the cable net's new drama series, says The Hollywood Reporter.
On "Pretty Little Liars," Lowe will play the father of Aria (Lucy Hale), one of four teen girls whom begin getting harassed by anonymous text messages that seem to be from a friend who disappeared several years before.
"Angel" star Alexis Denisof originally played the father in the pilot.
Torres, another actress known for appearing on "Angel," will get on board with "Huge," the series set in a teen weight-loss camp. She'll play Dr. Dorothy Rand.

- Syfy's "Stargate Universe" has added Robert Knepper ("Prison Break," "Heroes") and Julie McNiven ("Mad Men," "Supernatural") as guest stars for their second season. Knepper will play Simeon, a Lucian Alliance member, over six episodes, while McNiven will also play an Alliance member named Ginn for five episodes. "SGU" returns from hiatus on Friday, April 2 to finish up its first season.
- FOX's comedy "Strange Brew," about a family that owns a brewery, has added Greg Germann as a rival brewer and Damon Gupton as a brewmaster.
- Riki Lindhome will play the bride's best friend on CBS' "Hitched," which stars Kristin Kreuk and Jack Carpenter as newlyweds.
- The CW's cheerleading series "Hellcats" has added male cheerleader Robbie Jones who is at the base of the human pyramid who has a crush on the new girl (Aly Michalka). Also, Heather Hemmens will play an injured cheerleader who's sidelined.

I would rather see Alexis Denisof (not Chad Lowe) play the father in Pretty Little Liars.
I was really hoping to see Alexis Denisof on TV again. I know I won't watch Pretty Little Liars now that he's been replaced, which is too bad because I thought the show sounded kind of cute.
This sucks! I won't be watching either. Alexis would have been way better.
