'Brothers & Sisters': 'Melrose' alum Colin Egglesfield's scenes won't air

brothers-and-sisters-colin-egglesfield-young-william-walker.jpgThe "Brothers & Sisters" flashback episode aired Sunday, April 11, but there was one key person missing from the dramatic two-hours: Colin Egglesfield as young William Walker.

From what we can gather, Egglesfield's scenes were cut from the episode for creative reasons, which, of course, is a common occurrence in Hollywood (but is still a bummer).

In the flashback episode, young William was only portrayed in shadow during the outdoor screaming scenes with Nora and Dennis York. Then, we saw him, once again cloaked by darkness, when he picked up young Kevin after his pivotal fight with his young friend, Aaron.

Previously, ABC told us that the flashback episode would cover the years of 1986 and 1973. Yet, there were no scenes from the seventies when, presumably, young William, Nora and Holly would be the major focus, since the children were all below the age of six. Brianne Davis was cast to play young Holly. There was speculation on who would play young Nora, but no official announcement.

We then thought that his scenes would appear in a later episode this season. In fact, ABC had told us that Egglesfield was on-set February 18 shooting the eighties scenes. Access Hollywood confirmed that when they interviewed him on-set that day.

Back then, ABC also told us that he would be back in March to shoot the seventies scenes. Egglesfield, himself, joked with Access Hollywood that he hopes he doesn't end up with a "porn mustache."

But ABC now tells us that we won't be seeing any of Egglesfield's scenes and we won't be seeing the flashbacks to 1973 either. Downer, right?

We loved the flashback episode, but we would have loved it even more if we got to see Egglesfield in a porn moustache playing the man whose transgressions have driven the family drama for four seasons now.

A spokesperson for Egglesfield tells Zap2it that they have no comment beyond ABC's official statement. ABC had not issued an official statement by the time this article posted.

Egglesfield's rep says the actor is currently in New York City preparing to shoot the feature film, "Something Borrowed," opposite Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin.

Aren't you bummed that we won't be seeing Colin Egglesfield as young William Walker?

I was looking forward to his scenes! grrr

That said - last night's ep was great. Totally unexpected re Kevin. And how cute are Holly and Nora as co-conspirators ;)

I thought about this the last hour, and then the last 30 min then the last 10 min, I thought even then it was possible, but we were left hanging at the end. I feel duped.

Poor guy just can't seem to catch a break!

i thot the epusod was spozd to be all flashbaks not just a littel bit of flashbak

an actually useful artical not like that dribble by that divet miss than preta the divet

The episode was great. I too was surprised when Colin never showed on screen but his names were in the credits at the beginning of the show. Oh well, he's a good actor and will get a break sooner or later.

I agree with Ryan. I was quite puzzled when his name was listed in the credits as a guest star, but then never showed up during the episode. I hate that they scrapped his scenes.

Well...I think it's obvious why they cut his scenes..same reason he was fired from Melrose

And that reason is...take acting classes Colin!

I was so disappointed that Colin's scenes were not shown. He is a good actor and will get his big break. I just know it.
