'Brothers & Sisters': Balthazar Getty returning full-time?

brothers-&-sisters-abc-balthazar-getty-tommy.jpg Balthazar Getty has made some recent appearances on "Brothers & Sisters," but there's a chance we'll see a lot more of him next season.

An inside source tells Zap2it that ABC is considering bringing Getty's character, Tommy Walker, back full-time next season.

While Getty has remained on the opening credits, he only just returned to the series as the threat from Dennis York was reaching a critical impasse.

Currently living in Seattle, Tommy's life fell apart after he illegally tried to acquire enough shares in Ojai to overthrow Holly. He then ran off to Mexico and joined a commune before deciding to follow Julia and their daughter to Seattle.

This wouldn't be the first of the cast shake-ups for next season. Rob Lowe leaves this season. And earlier this week, we reported that Gilles Marini is officially a regular for the next season and Luke Grimes, who plays half-brother Ryan, is out.

Does that mean there's room for Tommy's full-time return? What do you think?

I didn't really like his character but when he left, something was missing. I think you can see what an douche the actor is through his performance, but he should stay...

The problem with the Ryan character was the writing. For Tommy, the actor's issues may have dictated a departure/furlough, but the writing was awful there too--clearly in no way designed to find anything redeemable in the character. The sad thing is the waste of the characters, especially Ryan, due to the lack of imagination. I just wonder what paths they're leaving for themselves if the only single character left is Nora...?

no he needs to stay away, he was horrible

They need him back! He plays this character well and fans enjoy him. Fans of shows are starting to not care what the actors do on their time, only that they come to work!

I think if he comes back, he should be able to redeem himself. They always compared him to William and he died before he could redeem himself. Let's see Tommy struggle and become a better man in Season 5

Bring him back, there was always a noticeable void with him gone during family dinners. The show is too young to already have a missing title character.

That's the thing DJ, people do care. I am so sick of seeing and knowing too much about celebrities personal lives that I will not watch them in things anymore. Paparazzi shanangins are ruining entertainment. Yeah, we get it, you are a failure and so you feel the need to exploit innocent children. Get a real job!

I SOOOOOO called this the moment I heard of Rob's departure. They're going to be down one man and of course they'd need a "replacement".

This is also why I don't think Justin ships off in Iraq again. I'm really loving the medicine Justin, not war shitty Justin

I have heard talk that B & S is going to jump a few years into the future, so it makes sense that Tommy would have resolved some issues and moved back by then. He is an interesting foil for his sibilings (I really liked his stuff with Kevin this year) so I would like to see him back.

There's a little mistake in the article. Elizabeth is Tommy's daughter, Julia was is wife.
