Box Office: 'Clash of the Titans,' Tyler Perry unseat 'Dragon'
The revamped "Clash of the Titans" easily led the weekend box office with an estimated $64.1 million in ticket sales in its debut.Another new film, the sequel "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?," came in second with $30.2 million.
Both films toppled the Paramount animated "How to Train Your Dragon" from the top spot it held the previous week. At No. 3, it earned a respectable $29.2 million over the weekend, which brings its domestic total to $92.3 million.
The Miley Cyrus vehicle, an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' "The Last Song," had opened earlier in the week, but still couldn't muster enough to defeat the "Dragon" and only came in fourth place in its debut.
The full Top 10 over the three-day weekend:
- "Clash of the Titans" - $61.4 million
- "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married too" - $30.2 million
- "How to Train Your Dragon" - $29.2 million
- "The Last Song" - $16.2 million (3-day), $25.6 million (5-day)
- "Alice in Wonderland" - $8.2 million
- "Hot Tub Time Machine" - $8 million
- "The Bounty Hunter" - $6.2 million
- "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" - $5.5 million
- "She's Out of My League" - $1.463 million
- "Shutter Island" - $1.462 million

Tyler Perry is making other Hollywood mogels nervous because of his great success. No animation,props and/or out of space characters. He makes movies about real people and their problems. The actors are African Americans, but their marriage problems cross all racial borders, and that is why Perry will always be looked up to for pictures of substance. His Movies will soon be number one, or close to it.
The ladies are not all light, bright, and damn near white. That is how other Movie makers pick black actresses for their cast. Thanks to Tyler Perry, those days are over. Who knows better than him that lovely black woman come in all shades. House colors, and field colors are all the same to him. Some of you will know exactly what I mean.
