'Bones': Producers Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan dissect the 100th episode

hart-hanson-stephen-nathan-bones-320.jpg"Bones" fans, as the 100th episode proved, we haven't exactly been privy to as much of Booth and Brennan's relationship as we might've originally thought.

Now that we know Booth and Brennan shared their first kiss during their initial case together, the question became, when did the writers know that very important fact?

Korbi TV recently caught up with "Bones" creator Hart Hanson and executive producer Stephen Nathan and their answer to that question might surprise some of you.

"Oh, we knew in the pilot that there had been something," Hanson says in the clip below. "Because you don't hate someone that much just because they don't work well with you. Don't you think?"

"It's a five year nefarious plan," Nathan adds. "And I think it's been well-hid."

And then they start laughing.

Think they're pulling our leg?

Maybe they only decided on it this season?

Who knows.

But if this has been planned from the beginning, it does explain a lot of Booth and Brennan's heavily tense scenes early in the series.

Though should we even trust what we saw? After all, when Booth started his tale to Sweets, he began with a lie. That pool hall certainly didn't seem like a gamblers' anonymous meeting.

However, they'd never do that to the fans, would they? Hanson did promise us that "what happens in the [100th episode] happened," so we decided we're going to trust that.

Even though he did tease us with a "...Or it didn't," in the clip. "This is [like] life," he says. "Don't you think this is a good mirror of life? You never quite know what's going on."

"You want to keep people off balance," agrees Nathan.

"We started [and] the first thing in the story was a big fat lie," Hanson says.

They were joking.

We think.

As you'll see in the video, Hanson and Nathan were getting a little too much enjoyment out of making fun of each other... and us.

And we weren't their only targets. Take a look at the video to see which other television shows they call out for being more cryptic than they are...

Is it just us, or did Nathan's description of "Lost" sound suspiciously like what Carlton Cuse told us about the finale?

The 100th episode rocked! We need more Bones and Booth and less American Idol!

"The Jeffersonian doesn't disappear..." HAHHAHAHAHAHA

Haha These guys are very funny! They did a very good job at keeping us off balance and making us want more. Isn't that what it's all about? Fabulous episode!

Keeping the audience off balance may seem like a good strategy until it comes to the point where the audience is so sick of being screwed around that they just don't care any more. Lost is a totally different kind of show than Bones.

No wonder Hart Hanson is such good friends with the House producers. Does he know that Bones is rapidly developing a reputation for being the Moonlighting of this decade for doing relationships badly?

If you need to attract more attention, you would choose a pair of colorful Christian Louboutin; if I want to be a banquet in the party, you should showed off the Christian Louboutin, and the temptatiion will like the fireworks, at thie time the Christian Louboutin is your right choice. And you need a pair of shoes to catch his sight instantly, the special shoes is Christian Louboutin Black satin anemone pumps; in the Wedding hall, a pair of high-heeled shoes are essential, particularly days should wear special shoes, leaving special memories, the beautiful and fashional Christian Louboutin shoes will be your best partner.
Nevermind what kind of shoes fo you want, what style do you want to be,never doubt that Christian Louboutin is your right choice, the Christian Louboutin will provide you the special chance to realize your dream.

I have to say I'm kind of disappointed in the 100th episode. I thought that the show could really take a fun turn if those two actually tried a relationship. I'm not saying it had to last but instead it makes Bones out to be a complete idiot and uncharacteristically portrays Booth for not calling her on it. For Bones to say she can't change is stupid...she has been changing every episode since the series started, as a scientist...she would notice that. Also, she wouldn't turn Booth down because if she hasn't changed then she would see the relationship as sex (a biological need) and not a lasting thing anyways (unlike Booth who would be looking for marriage). This totally screwed with their characters and I didn't think it did the rest of the series justice.

Given that the cases/stories are no longer as compelling as they were in the first years of the series, the sheer lack of sexual tension any longer between B&B, the lack of witty, smart interesting dialogue or fun/engaging debates as in the old days of the series (on religion, marriage, raising kids, heart vs head) - I feel like this 100th episode just screwed with this viewer one too many times.

Without the quality of the first seasons, I really have no interest in watching whatever new version of the B&B relationshp that is coming our way.

Boy, do I miss those old cases. I feel as though once the viewership leaped into the high numbers, the writers just stopped working as hard as they used to while they were trying to make the show a success.

I pretty much fast forward through anything to do with the cases this year and the other nonsense between the other cast members - whereas, I used to be able to rewatch all the episodes from seasons 1 to 3 many times.

I have to say thought DB and ED were just amazing in that last scene - too bad it was such a ridiculous new obstacle for two adults after five years. I'm now officially bored with this silliness.

I want more Zak! Gimme!!

I thought the 100th was a fabulous episode, and I was definitely not disappointed. They warned us that it'd be heartwrenching, sad, and dramatic, so I went in expecting that, not expecting a happy ending. They'll get one of those soon, but not just yet. It'll work out.

I agree completely with the poster Disappointed, it's really gone downhill, and I'm so tired of being jerked around.JUST PUT THEM TOGETHER ALREADY!! It's become ridiculous, just bad story telling, bad plots, and often bad writing! Episode 100 was better, but lets face it,if the show gets to 200 eps they'll be in the same place, stuck and stale. I'm out.
