Betty White's 'Saturday Night Live' promo: 'Do you know they call me a cougar?'

betty-white-saturday-night-live.jpgVeteran television actress and funnywoman Betty White is joining studio 8H to host "Saturday Night Live" on May 8.

Joining her are "SNL" veterans Molly Shannon, Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch and Tina Fey in an all-star "SNL" salute to women on Mother's Day weekend.

Betty's first "SNL" promo is available and she hilariously says she's hosting "SNL," "thanks to the internet." It's funny 'cause it's true. The Betty White Facebook campaign is certainly at least partially responsible for her hosting gig.

We also love that they're playing up her supposed cougar status. We aren't sure what Betty's been up to in recent years, but she met her husband Allen Ludden on the set of "Password" in 1962 and was married to him until his death in 1981, it was really quite romantic.

Betty White's "Saturday Night Live" airs Saturday, May 8 at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Do I really need to say anything? God I love her.

DIRTY... DIRTY DIRTY GIRL

Very, very funny!!!

I adore her. True talent, true humor, and she still kicks butt after all these years.

And I'm sure Tina Fey will do her Sarah Palin bit again, they should call this P.O.S. "Saturday Night Lame"!

You know, one never knows what goes on behind closed doors in other peoples' marriages, but from all appearances, and with no reports to the contrary, the love story of Betty and Alan was passionate, sweet and enduring. They clearly loved each other until the harsh reality of life and death cruelly took him from her. They were truly an inspiration for couples today.

I have always loved this gal. Keep going Betty.

I think Ms White is great, but she knew Allen before 1962, I have their autographs from 1960...walking the Midway at KING REID SHOWS at the SKOWHEGAN FAIR...I was 12 years old, and this year will be 62.
