'American Idol' Top 6 Dispatch: Siobhan Magnus + Lee Dewyze 4EVA
Zap2it's weekly "Dispatches from Inside the 'Idol' Dome" brings you closer to all the action. What didn't viewers
see on the TV broadcast? We've got it covered.Has there ever been a behind-the-"Idol"-scenes romance between two contestants? We don't think so, but we are now going to sigh dreamily and pretend like Siobhan and Lee have one. What else happened off-camera?
We're with the band
- Rascal Flatts was great live, but Michael Lynche and Lee Dewyze were super-pumped about the "Idol" band drummer who sat in with them on the first song. The drummer really let it rip a couple times and Mike and Lee were laughing delightedly, then leapt to their feet for him when it was over, pointing and clapping and cheering.
- So many acts and segments were pre-recorded tonight that we spent a lot of time just sitting in the studio alone -- no judges, no Idols, no nothing. They were probably all backstage partying and us in the studio audience were watching television with 500 of our closest friends.
- "Idol" bandleader Rickey Minor got his first fan-made sign of the season. One little girl had an "I [Heart] Rickey Minor" sign. He was very pleased from up where the band sits.
Puss 'n Boots! And possibly some Kardashians?
- You guys saw on TV that Antonio Banderas and Cameron Diaz were there to promote "Shrek Forever After." What you didn't see is that Antonio Banderas = short in person and that Cameron Diaz might be the prettiest celebrity we've seen in real life. She is stunning and took a lot of time to say hi and hug audience members. Totally cool.
- There may have been a Kardashian or two in the house, but not one of the older really famous ones. Maybe the two younger ones? Kylie and Kendall? We're not sure.
Elimination Station
- The judges were absolutely stunned when Big Mike was safe and the Bottom 2 were Casey and Siobhan. When the cameras cut to commercial following that announcement, they just sat there making open-mouthed, goggle-eyed faces at each other.
- After Siobhan was eliminated, Kara ran up on stage to take extra time to hug and talk with her.
- Siobhan started crying before the elimination even happened and who was there to comfort her with a big hug? Lee Dewyze. He had to be shooed back to the contestants' couch.
- Similarly, after she was eliminated, he wanted to come over to her during her video package but was stopped by Debbie the Stage Manager.
- When she finally finished her sing-out and the cameras cut away, he rushed over to her and they just embraced tightly for several minutes. No other Idol even got to hug her before they were all shuffled away.
- What does this mean? Probably that Lee and Siobhan have just gotten to be good friends. But in our head -- they are in LURVE and are going to have cute, weird, talented babies.
Check out our other dispatch from the "Idol" dome -- Lady Gaga performed Alejandro and it was amazing.

It seems on American Idol that sometimes the "vote" results have nothing to do with the performance. Siobhan Magnus's performance yesterday was the best of the night in my and my family's opinions. The judges gushed over it and she was placed at the end of the show, where they usually put the best performance. Today she is gone. Why? Who is calling the shots?
Some people report that there was a mix up with the phone numbers on the West Coast and Aaron Kelly got her votes. If you recorded the show and her number was either missing or incorrect, please report it to the show and newspapers and that you have a copy. If so, Idol should bring her back and have a double elimination if necessary. Otherwise, why bother voting or even watching that phony show?

I thought Siobhan's performance was one that the judges would look back at and wonder why they liked it. I was really unimpressed with the quality of her performance, and I guess I was not alone. I think she was exactly the right person to be eliminated this time around. She has a great voice, but lacks the control and professionalism of the other contestants. She needs to build confidence and enjoy who she is, rather than posture in hairstyles and outfits that are out of sync with the beautiful, strong persona that shines through her but she has yet to embrace and embody. I hope she continues to grow into herself as an artist and a talent who doesn't need to posture, because she is so much more substantial and interesting than that.
American Idol should bring her back. I won't be watching it or voting anymore. It is all planned and plain crap to me.
Victor, you cannot be serious. Idol flashed both of her phone numbers in BIG BOLD PRINT over her face at the end of the show...twice. It's not their fault if some fanpage on Facebook put Aaron Kelly's number instead.
I don't understand how in the world she was not 1 of the top vote getters....I'm thinking the Idol is a farce...and big, boring, tanking farce....siobhan was the entertainer...and now what? I guess I really don't care since I will not watch it without her...so someone better do some magic and claim a miscount or something
what the?! aaron is the one who should be sent home...i will no longer watch AI
How is it that she was never in the bottom 2 or 3, and the all of a sudden she has the lowest vote count? I just don't see that. The people that vote for her would at least be around the same, so there is no way she all of a sudden has less than all the others. NO WAY!!!
I believe that the judges (Simon) have planned for Crystal to win and that is why they never really gushy over Siobhan despite her talent. She was awesome. Sorry but if Casey weren't cute he would be gone. Big Mike...gone...and Aaron singing for his mother???
I believe that the judges manipulate voters. simon's comments have everyone questioning her signature vocals and range. What a jerk. I won't watch again.
I voted for Siobhan 900 times last night just as I have all of the other weeks. This week even more of my friends voted for her. Her elimination was because of the wrong number being posted on facebook. I am so tired of people with no morals like Crystal being "pimped" on Idol. I will never watch again. I suspect Idol paid someone to post the wrong number so Siobhan would be gone. Otherwise, they would bring her back and do a double elimination next week. When they put up the wrong number in Season 4, they did a re-vote. They should understand how easily a voting mistake can happen since it happened to them. There is no way Siobhan got less votes than Michael Lynch.
