'American Idol' to visit 'The Simpsons'

american-idol-simpsons-judges-320.jpgThe May 23 season finale of "The Simpsons," has five very important people visiting Springfield -- the "American Idol" judges and host Ryan Seacrest.

According to People, all four judges plus Ryan will lend their voices to the long-running FOX cartoon for an episode titled "Judge Me Tender," in which bartender Moe's ability to be a good judge gets him involved with the "American Idol" crew. Could Moe possibily be Simon Cowell's replacement?

This will be the first "Simpsons" visit for Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Seacrest and Kara DioGuardi. Simon Cowell previously voiced a "Simpsons" character named Henry in a 2004 episode titled "Smart & Smarter," where it is revealed by Simon's Henry that baby Maggie might be a genius like Lisa. During the end credits, Simon (as himself) can be heard making comments about the production crew in typical Simon Cowell fashion.

We can't wait for the "Simpsons"-ized versions of our favorite TV judges and host. The potential for comedy is enormous with that bunch.

"The potential for comedy is enormous with that bunch". Yeah, Right. Like all the simpsons guest voices, they probably too will sum up their appearance after 20 seconds. It got to the point that they bring guest stars to say one line just so they could promote the episode. remember when Jennifer Garner came on and said two words? that's it. Two words. I don't think this will be any different. Guests stars only get real lines when they're not playing themselves, like Cowell did in '04. If they play themselves it's not more than a one-line joke for promotional purposes.
