'American Idol': Season 9 finale welcomes Christina Aguilera, maybe Adam Lambert?

"American Idol" has started lining up acts for the Wednesday, May 26 finale and the first one is none other than songstress Christina Aguilera. Her official Twitter tweeted April 19, "We've reached over 19,000 followers and this just in, Christina Aguilera will be performing on the American Idol finale!"
No doubt she will be there to promote her new album "Bionic," but what will she sing? The lead single off the album is "Not Myself Tonight," but perhaps she'll debut a new single for the "Idol" finale.
Meanwhile, Adam Lambert, who just appeared on "Idol" as a guest mentor and performer, tells MTV News, "I hope to come back for the finale. Unfortunately, I'm going to be gone for 'Idol Gives Back.'" Adam is heading back to the United Kingdom to promote "For Your Entertainment," which comes out there at the end of April.
Between now and the finale, we can also look forward to Justin Bieber and Lady Antebellum, both of which pre-taped a live "Idol" performance. Lady Gaga has also announced that she is coming to "Idol" on May 5.
Zap2it has reached out to FOX for confirmation on Xtina's "Idol" performance.

Usually guests on the finale sing with the Idol contestant(s). I can't image her singing her new song with them. Maybe she'll be like Prince and do her own thing. Would love to see Adam Lambert and Christina sing together.
Adam has said that he would love to sing with Christina. Please make that happen on idol finale!

Umm, Adam Lambert better be there...he drove the ratings up soo much higher wen he mentored last week. And he and Christina would make a powerhouse performance together!!
Actually "Val A": I don't think the ratings were hugely improved...check it out online. I am an UBER FAN of Lambert, but I'm not sure if the ratings bump for Idol was gigantic (maybe I'm wrong). Regardless, I would absolutely love to see Lambert PERFORM on the finale. I do not think it will happen because I do think Idol has some couth, a little anyway, and they might feel a Lambert appearance might upstage the business at hand (although a Christina appearance is HUGE too). I'm just hoping for Lambert to be in attendance... but one can always dream (that he'll perform). I would turn in for that - otherwise, I most probably won't be watching. I can catch what I want on the internet after the fact.
@ Kyle: Your comment only shows how musically challenged you are. An ADAM/Christina duet would bring the house DOWN & the ratings UP!!
Idol had a million more viewers the night Adam performed. Sounds good to me. At least the ratings didn't go down as they had been doing. Would love to see Adam perform on the finale. But he might upstage the winner so maybe it won't happen. Even if he is just sitting in the audience it will be buzz the next day.
For the first time DWTS had beaten AI two weeks in a row prior to Adam's appearance. Argue the #'s all you like but the Nielsens show that AI was in 1st place both nights.
Please bring Adam back for the finale, he could sing with Christina, or solo( yes). That is the only I reason I would tune in again for Idol.
