'American Idol': Ryan Seacrest meets with Bill Gates for 'Idol Gives Back'
"American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest was hob-knobbing with known philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates for the upcoming "Idol Gives Back" special.Seacrest tweeted Friday, April 2: "Off to seattle today meeting @billgates later, he is going to be a major part of our idol gives back special I'll let u know who's taller!" and "http://twitpic.com/1cog8d - Just had a great chat with @billgates and melinda for IGB! Off to indy now."
As we can all see from the above twitpic, it looks like Gates has Seacrest in the height department.
"Idol Gives Back" has started announcing the all-star lineup, which so far includes "Idol" Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood, the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox and Jeff Beck. The charity event actually sort of already started with last year's winner Kris Allen's trip to Haiti and subsequent visit to the "Idol" stage.
We've also been seeing various celebrities taping their "Idol Gives Back" segments during commercial breaks at the live "American Idol" performance and results shows the past few weeeks -- David Duchovny, Adam Shankman, Chris Rock and Justin Bieber have all done their parts for the charity special.
"Idol Gives Back" airs Wednesday, April 21 on FOX.
Our only question is ... why is Ryan Seacrest going to Indianapolis? Does he get to go to the Final Four? Jealous.

Seacrest has been and always will be a hipster doofus but a lucky SOB at that.
Wow. Would you look at that! Melinda changed her hair color to ash blond the very same week my mother did! She looks fab in her "new look". I am elated to see she that is mixing in with the creatives these days. It makes her seem so much more upproachable.
It's sort of amazing that last time I checked, years ago, Bill Gates had made the decision to give 17 billion dollars away to charities. And now he's at it again. Pretty decent!
