'American Idol' mystery solved: David Archuleta, Rihanna to perform

When a few hints were dropped by an "American Idol" insider earlier today, Zap2it's "Idol" fans investigated who the "mystery performer" would be on the Wednesday (April 7) results show. Now, the official American Idol site has confirmed that David Archuleta will appear.Archie's rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine" secured his position as a top contender during Season 7, so we're looking forward to him reprising his performance in honor of the Lennon/McCartney themed week.
Two weeks ago, Archie's friend and competitor David Cook took the stage to show the current idols how to rock a Rolling Stones song. We're sure Archie has a few things to teach the current Top 9 contestants, too.
In addition to Archuleta, Rihanna will perform her latest single "Te Amo." Jason Derulo will sing "In My Head" off his self-titled debut album.

I'm sure it was just an editorial oversight, but Nuno Bettencourt will also be performing with Rihanna. I mean, no one would really forget to mention the performance by an artist that co-wrote and performed 2 top 5 Hot 100 hits, would they? Right? They would mention that wouldn't they? *Sigh*
