'American Idol': Kris Allen's gambling Twitter gaffe

A joke on Twitter by "American Idol" finalist Kris Allen has sparked a flurry of criticism, followed by a flurry of Kris supporters to the rescue.On the morning of Tuesday, April 20, Kris Allen tweeted the following: Gambling at it's finest. http://twitvid.com/27QXF." The link shows a woman in a wheelchair going bonkers on a slot machine.

Kris Allen's follow-up tweets were "Sorry if I offended anyone. The video had nothing to do with the fact that she was in a wheelchair but [cont.] The fact that she was punching the button hard and fast. I'm sorry again."
Which in turn spurred the Kris Allen fans to jump to his defense with tweets about how he's a good guy and has a good sense of humor, though we did see one that blamed the Adam Lambert fans for hating on Kris. What do you guys think?

I think you should focus on actual news and not an innocent joke that the glamberts have chosen to wank about.

Kris's 'gaffe' was inadvertently giving material to people looking for a reason to criticize. It was obvious that he was talking about the gambling - the slot playing. And actually, from what Kris told me when I met him at the casino this weekend, he isn't a fan of slots at all - which was probably another reason he titled the video "gambling at its finest".
A bit insensitive seeing she was in a wheelchair. Not nice to mock anyone at the best of times, let alone a poor woman who probably gets immense pleasure out of doing something that others can do.
Oh yeah...as if Kris Allen fans wouldn't have been falling all over themselves to slam Adam Lambert if Adam had sent that tweet. Get over yourselves.
I didn't even notice she was in a wheelchair - it was not the focus of the vid IMO. Kind of a weird thing to tweet, but not offensive. And who said it was Adam Lambert fans attacking him? I know quite a few and follow them and didn't see any negativity on my feed. In fact the first I heard of it was Kris' tweet of apology - which then made me go look to see what happened. Kris and Adam fans need to stop it - they are not on Idol anymore It just doesn't matter - like who you like (as long as its Matt LOL) and leave everyone else alone.
You know, Kris can't do anything with the Glamberts verbally attacking him. If he doesn't wish Adam Lambert Happy Birthday by 7:00 a.m. on said birth date, it's just too bad because they will be on him like flies on honey.
When I saw the video, I simply grinned. I never for a moment thought he was picking on anyone. Why do people have to be so busy looking for fault? Why do these people follow Kris anyway? It's obviously not because they like him. Bottom line: Kris doesn't need to answer to Adam's fans and people just need to chill. LET IT BE, k?
The lady isn't to be looked down upon. The people complaining just feels guilty because they pity her. Don't pity her. She's the same as everyone else, and not to be looked down upon for being in wheelchair. Kris admired her passion for the slots and does not think less of her for her physical condition.
The other day it was Archie, now Kris. Twitter really is the devil!
Just a bunch of bitter people, as usual.
