'American Idol': Crystal Bowersox's 'People Get Ready,' says she can glam it up

Crystal Bowersox turned in another powerhouse performance on "American Idol" Inspirational Songs week for "Idol Gives Back." She chose "People Get Ready" by The Impressions and her emotional singing left nary a dry eye in our section at the taping.. Crystal said onstage that she became choked up because it was the first time her dad had been to see her perform on "Idol." He looked cool as a cucumber in his shades, but we bet he was pretty touched behind the glasses.
Crystal has been the frontrunner for weeks now but it was nice to see her open up a bit. Her personality perhaps doesn't come through as best it could -- perhaps because she seems flawless. She rarely has an off night and even those have only tiny mistakes.
We also loved seeing her completely instrument free and dressed to the nines. She looked gorgeous and she tells Zap2it, "Just because I have dreadlocks doesn't mean I can't be elegant. I don't have to wear jeans ... I'm a woman."

Crystal is so far above the rest of the competitor's. She is so genuine and humble and that just adds to her amazing talent. I hope stardom doesn't change her, because I know she is destined to be a huge star. You are amazing Crystal!

Crystal Bowersox is in a league of her own. The other contestans can not even begin to be in the same talent zone that she is in. I had picked Bowersox from day one to be the winner and each week she gets better and better.
Siobban Magnus has a big beautiful voice but she lacks the uniquueness in her deliverance that Bowersox delivers. And I personally feel that Magnus just do not get it when the judges tell her to "be unique".
Bowersox rocks! I love this song and the way she sang it tonight-People Get ready. I have never downloaded a song from ITUNES but I will download this one.
Calling last night's performances 'inspired' was a long stretch - it was honestly one of the more painful nights of American Idol I've seen in quite a few years - and distressingly so for an episode so far into the season when everyone should be at the top of their game now. With that said, Crystal, Casey, and Lee were probably the best of the night (given, not great), but the other four...ouch.
