'American Idol': Crystal Bowersox's 'Holy Toledo' hits airwaves
Apparently Crystal Bowersox does not need to win "American Idol" to take to the radio airwaves. A song called "Holy Toledo" from her pre-"Idol" days hit the "Idol" airplay charts this past week.According to USA Today, a Toledo, OH-based radio station 101.5 The River (WRVF-FM) has picked up this little ditty and played it often enough to land it at No. 90 on the airplay chart. Crystal's "Holy Toledo" recorded 16 plays this past week, landing it right above Carrie Underwood's "Star Spangled Banner" and right below Ruben Studdard's "Sorry 2004." We aren't sure what is more surprising -- that Crystal is already on the radio or that "Sorry 2004" still is.
Take a listen to the song below and let us know what you think! Frankly, we think it's pretty good, not that we are surprised. Her voice is subdued and very pretty on the piece and it really reminds us of Tracy Chapman -- not in vocal tone, but the song itself.

Oh, she's good.
Wow Crystal really has a beautiful tone no? Her influences really show in this track! Very life driven powerful lyrics, no wonder she connects with her songs so well, she has lived. I'm so excited to hear and purchase her post-idol album!!!
Yeah, it reminds me of Tracy Chapman too. Except this drones on and on and on even more than the average Chapman song. I love me some acoustic guitar and the girl has a nice voice - nice but nothing special. But the song itself is just DULL.
GORGEOUS! Crystal is simply amazing!
I really enjoyed this! Crystal is amazing. I would buy any recordings from her.
Go Crystal! I love this song from you, thank you for your beautiful talent. I hope to hear more from you, on the radio, on t.v., in concert, on cd....etc. I LOVE your voice and your guitar and harmonica playing. please give us more....
I think it's just a sign of things to come from "Mamasox". She definately has a sweet yet powerful voice and I'm looking forward for all things yet to come from this wonderful young woman!
Absolutely beautiful, this lady is the real deal.
Wow. I have little faith in the voting public, I mean look at the state of American Politics lol.
But that said. She's the first person to make me want to buy a CD in quite awhile.
Can't wait.
BOOORRRRINNNNG!!!!!
What a snoozer of a song. I hope this isn't the kind of sleepy stuff she'll put out post-idol. Gawd I'm so glad I don't live in Ohio so I wouldn't have to swerve off a bridge when I heard this depressing song.
