'American Idol': Crystal Bowersox texted Katelyn Epperly 'Betrayed by Seacrest'

Last week, news broke that Crystal Bowersox nearly quit "American Idol" but was talked into staying by Ryan Seacrest. After reading the reports, ousted Top 24 contestant Katelyn Epperly texted Bowersox to check in. Epperly tells Star 102.5 in her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, that Bowersox wrote back, "Oh yes. I'm fine. Betrayed by Seacrest!"
"She had a moment backstage where she was just missing her kid ... and sometimes it really gets to her," Epperly tells the station. She probably just had a moment and they made it to be something that it wasn't. She's fine."
Seacrest allegedly convinced Bowersox to stay by emphasizing how lucrative "Idol" is and telling her she'd be able to buy her mother a house if she stuck it out. Bowersox addressed the incident on Facebook, adding, "Media is a funny thing. Stretched and skewed and far from the truth. Lets play telephone and see what we come up with!! :-)"

Sounds like Katlynn has betrayed her also to even give a response to the media at all (concerning her text msg.), all in the face of entertainment I guess but still.... Yes katlynn was dismissed from Idol too early now she is stumbling around for media herself so she can make it and by making a statement period on Crystal's text was a betrayal in itself in my opinion. Sad thing is this, Crystal is a great big ball of natural talent and everyone now is trying to cash in on her for their own media (using her basically) and she seems like such a nice person who is actually very sensitive in a field (entertainment) that is so cut throat. Props to Crystal and flush the rest is my attitude right about now, it really irks me to no end what they are all doing to cash in on her news-iness for their own sakes.
aww poor crystal! ;( well at least she's still in it to win it!!!! Good thing ryan talked her back into it!!!! ;D
Somewhere in this, somebody or somebodies did a sucky thing. It may have been Seacrest, or a producer that wanted to rehab Seacrest after his strange behavior last week by leaking the Bowersox story to make him look like a good deed doer.
Epperly might have shot her mouth off about it without Crystal being aware she was going to do so.
I know the negativity and lack of encouragement from the judges has helped create the "downer atmosphere" and underformance by contestants live. That Rickey Minor says they do well with energy and enthusiasm in practice. All the females have been affected by it, almost all the guys except Tim being imperious to it and Big Mike so full of himself he doesn't notice.
OOoops! Meant to say impervious, as in Teflon. Tim is too nice to be imperious.

She is a very singer,i think that American Idol should gave her one more chance to prove her.
@VHS I don't see it as Katie betraying her at all! I see it as Katie doing Crystal a favor. She was setting the record straight and calling out Seacrest who used Crystal to try and make himself look like a hero.
I had a feeling she shouldn't trust Katelyn. The girl acted like she was her friend, but if you watched her watch Crystal sing, she clearly looked like she hated her.
