'American Idol': Bring back Brian Dunkleman!
Did you catch the gasp of excitement on "American Idol" when Ryan Seacrest said his former co-host Brian Dunkleman would be hosting part of "Idol Gives Back"?Yeah, well, Seacrest was lying. And kicking Dunkleman, who's not been seen on "Idol" since 2002, when he's down. In fact, Queen Latifah will be hosting the portion of "Idol Gives Back" that Seacrest mentioned during Tuesday's (April 13) broadcast.
But really, would it be such a bad thing to bring Dunkleman -- who's lately been seen on "Celebrity Fit Club" and playing himself on the final season of "My Name Is Earl" -- back into the fold for a night? From the comfort of the couch, it sounded like the studio audience was actively disappointed that Seacrest was making a joke at his ex-colleague's expense.
If you think about it, it would in fact be perfect. "American Idol" loves nothing more than a good comeback story, or, if you're inclined to look at things with a jaundiced eye, having Dunkleman on "Idol Gives Back" could be the show doling out its own form of charity. Maybe it would even help get "American Dunkleman" off the ground.
So what say you, America? Should "American Idol" give Dunkleman another shot?

So Ryan Seatrest is an a-hole. What a surprise.
Ryan Seacrest is a jerk. He has been acting extremely strange all season. That line about Dunkelman shows what a sad, mean little man Seacrest is.
FYI: Dunkleman quit.
Seacrest IS an a-hole... He asks the worst questions, to the contestants on idol, or on his radio talk show. He gets off on embarrassing people, or making people feel like sh!t on air, in his oh so not so subtle ways. Someone should turn the tables on him.
And NO, no one wants to see Brian Dunkleman return.
Seacrest has been increasingly inappropriate and un-funny all season. At this point, I'd prefer Dunkleman.
He (Dunkleman) made a bad choice for leaving the show but he said several times that it was his worst decision ever. Plus he didn't slam the show for any reason so why not give him a shot. It's a charity show for pete's sake besides he did voice-overs for American Idol Rewind in the past. America is a place that gives second chances so I'd say throw him a bone.
Not just no, but HELL NO!!! First of all, he has a stupid last name. Not that it makes him any better or worse of a host. It's just stupid. Second, he looks like a constipated pigeon. He was also annoying. The show is better off without him. Ryan Seacrest is allowed to be a jerk. He's a beautiful gay man. He's caddy by nature.
Not only should they bring back Dunkleman, but they should get rid of Ryan. The man is out of control and downright mean-spirited. The show is becoming unpleasant and uncomfortable to watch.
It's time for "Seacrest Out". He ruins the show...his smarmy, self promoting affect disrupts the flow of the show. He has no talent.
awww...people are adorable taking up for Brian Dunkleman as if Dunkleman's not a vile, vile little person.

Ignoring how boring and average the contestants are this year, the only reason Idol's unpleasant to watch is because the judges can't seem to produce anything close to consistent criticism. Simon's checked out, Randy and Kara are trying to make their mark so they can be alpha dog next year and Ellen's still finding her way. Ryan's the only thing that's consistent at all and, as has generally been the case, the only advocate the contestants have. On the mean spirited scale, behind Simon and, weirdly enough, Kara, Seacrest doesn't even rank.
