'American Idol': Andrew Garcia given a swift goodbye

andrew-garcia-320.jpgAndrew Garcia might have been an early favorite, even getting picked to win by former "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks. But Wednesday (April 14) turned out to be the end of the road for the 24-year-old from Compton, California.

Because of the judges' decision to save Michael Lynche last week, two contestants got derailed from their "American Idol" dreams on Wednesday's elimination show. And if you blinked you missed, Garcia's departure.

The elimination wasn't dragged out in usual "American Idol" dramatic fashion (ok, so they did have two eliminations to squeeze into an hour). Ryan Seacrest -- always watching the clock -- cut right to the point, basically pushing Garcia onto the stage to sing his goodbyes to America. He managed to squeeze in a few words before the cut to commercial:

"Thank you guys. I mean I appreciate everything. I'm glad I'm here. You guys let me experience something I've never experienced before. Thank you."

Who do YOU think will be next to go?

I think it will be Aaron next week.

Unless Tim returns to being as awful as he was up until two weeks ago. Eventually, this will catch up to him.

They just announced that Katie's already going home tonight. Too bad. I liked her, but I'm not surprised either.

Wow. DO you feel better now Zap? It's 7:13pm on the west coast and guess what, AI HASN'T AIRED YET. Thx for the non-disclosing title, thx for the 'spoiler alert'... oh yeah, you didn't do that you just blurted it. Damned fools, and another blog off my RSS.

I have no sympathy for you, DBob, or anyone else who even wanders anywhere near ANY entertainment site before they've watched Idol or Survivor or whatever until after they've actually watched the show. Why risk it? Duh!

DBob,
If you are interested in results of any kind, stay off the internet and email.

Duh! If you're so stupid to visit any entertainment site before you've watched the show, you deserve the spoiler!

I'm east coast, I knew the result but spoilers are bush league and Zap is better than that. Simple fix, I just took Zap off my RSS feed just in case and will come in on the web site now and then.

Don't worry about us West coasters, DBob. We only look at Zap2it if we are too tired to stay up to watch the shows - I love that I can come to this sight and find out everything without needing to waste an hour on a show!

No more American Idol for me, I don't like the way they saved Michael, Michael thinks he's the best, let me tell you far from it. I feel it was not fare to Andrew. Now that Andrew is gone so am I No More American Idol for me!!!
