'Vampire Diaries'' Paul Wesley: Stefan and Elena belong together but Katherine is so powerful

Korbi TV spent some quality time with "The Vampire Diaries"' Paul Wesley at The Paley Center a couple weeks ago where we attempted to grill him on the return of Katherine.

Now that we know that she wasn't in the tomb and probably isn't dead, how will this affect his character, Stefan?

With Katherine alive, would Stefan consider leaving Elena and going back to his first love?

Sadly for us, Wesley wouldn't even confirm that Katherine could be a factor. "Well, the last we heard is she's supposedly in Chicago," he says in the clip below. "But, again, we haven't seen her in present-day, so don't assume."

Thankfully, Wesley's boss, Ms. Julie Plec, told us shortly thereafter that not only is Katherine alive, but she's sluttin' it up wherever she is and we will be seeing her again.

So, having said that, could Stefan be one of the boys she sluts it up with in the future?

Wesley says he truly believes that Stefan and Elena belong together, but there could be other issues at play: "The thing is, Stefan's not a weak guy, but Katherine's so powerful. She's almost, like, omniscient in her creatively manipulative ways, and I just don't know what sort of manipulation she's capable of. And I think people make mistakes and... Stefan's not some perfect, flawless individual."

Sounds like a yes to us!
