'Ugly Betty': Adam Rodriguez prepares to say 'I do'
Adam Rodriguez thought this would be the season he would wrap up Eric Delko's story on "CSI: Miami." He's been coming in and out on a part-time basis after failing to reach a contract agreement last year. But, after some negotiation (and fan agitation), Rodriguez recently signed to return to "CSI: Miami" full-time next season, so the only character he's currently wrapping up is Bobby Talercio on ABC's "Ugly Betty," airing its final season on Wednesdays.
"I'm telling you," Rodriguez tells Zap2it, "my love life on television could not be better. I'm getting married on 'Ugly Betty,' I believe, in the second-to-last episode of the season. We haven't shot the wedding yet. They're actually shopping for it right now."
Talercio came into the storyline last fall as a drivers ed teacher, a former bad boy who dated Betty's (America Ferrera) sister, Hilda (Ana Ortiz), in high school. While Betty briefly nurtured hopes that she might have a chance with Bobby, in the end, he only had eyes for Hilda.
Asked where the wedding might be filmed, Rodriguez says, "I don't know. If I had to guess, we'll probably shoot it on the stage, but maybe not. Hopefully we'll have some cool New York location.
"The Suarez family is a fun family, so I'm sure the wedding is going to be interesting. And the Talercios are no bargain."
Describing himself as a "hopeless romantic," Rodriguez doesn't anticipate wedding bells anytime soon on "CSI: Miami," but for all the 'shippers out there, he is working on a nickname for the pairing of Calleigh Duquesne (pronounced "du-cane") and Eric Delko.
"Hmmm," he said, "that's a tough combination. DelQuesne, maybe? DelQuesne?"

Delquesne is perfect!
That's such a funny coincidence ... "Delquesne" just happens to be my screen name on the CSI Miami fan forum! I guess great minds think alike (LOL)! And yes, I'm a major Calleigh & Eric shipper. They make such an adorable (and HOT) couple!
I love Adam on "Ugly Betty" and I'm thrilled to hear that Talercio and Hilda are getting married.
But I'm so sick to death of the "Eric and Calleigh Show" on CSI Miami I could just scream!
It's boring and tired and they need to move on. Adam needs to stop trying to promote it and stir up his fans with every single interview he gives. His constantly beating the drum for the "Eric and Calleigh Show." Especially when you consider that a LOT of fans are NOT happy about HOW he came back and the possibility that another actor might be fired to make way for him. He's losing more and more respect with every interview because he plays only to "his" fans and forgets that there are a LOT of fans out there who really want to see that stupid "romance" over with already! Get a clue, Adam!
I am glad CBS realized they made a huge mistake in letting Adam walk away last year. They made up for it finally and even offered Adam a chance to write and direct next season. The interviewers ask the questions and keep bringing up the relationship, not Adam. They know the majority of the fans like the couple, that's why! And he's back due to the fan uproar. How is that making the fans unhappy in turn? Thanks for thinking of all the fans, Adam!
CBS isn't planning on firing anyone to make room for Adam's return. Which is very unfortunate because there is one particular actor (I use that term loosely) the fans can't stand. Hopefully he gets the axe- because he's a lousy fit. Anyway, thanks Adam for thinking of all the fans and coming back instead of taking on a new project. Miami fans and CBS know the show would never be the same without you. Congrats on your NAACP award as well.
I don't know, I have read countless posts on the fan forum for CBS, and there is quite the celebration going on because CBS came to their senses and got Adam back for next season. A LOT of fans are very happy about HOW he came back...because their campaign to get him back worked! The fans that dislike the romance are very much in the minority. Amy is right, the interviewers keep bringing up the romance. I'm sure he'd rather talk about something else once in awhile too! Like his upcoming movies, his NAACP award win...the guy is on a roll! Good for him.
I (being a major Adam fangirl) am VERY happy to see him return to CSI:Miami. It annoys me to hear all of the negative things said about Eric/Calleigh...well "Delquesne" now, but I think that the fans that are ranting about them running the show, just need to sit back and relax and wait for CBS to do there thing! They DO know how to handle romance and action all in one, just look at Danny/Lindsay or Grissom/Sara! If you have a problem with how the show turned out then don't watch it anymore! SImple as that! (:
Danny/Lindsay is entirely differnt than Eric/Calleigh.D/L gets a lot less airtime than E/C.Grissom isn't even on the show anymore. While there is plenty of celebration going on at the CBS site, that's not true for all sites.
E/C is boring. That story needs to be wrapped up so the show can move on to something else. It's too bad that someone will likely be let go because of Adam's return,he's very naive if he thinks that's not going to happen. We can also look for a return to the poor team interaction with his return,it was much better this season without him.
I have no plans to stop watching the show,I like the other characters .It would be nice if there was some effort by CBS to make other fans a little happier.
I for once am not that thrilled to watch him back on the show. While I can only admire his fans and their stubborness in getting back what they wanted, I cannot be excited about it. Leaving aside the fact I do not love the whole Eric/Calleigh romance, I find it rather odd that he left the show because he wanted to explore new things and because of "bad negotiaton" only to come back full - time less than a year later. While it may be good for his fans (it is), I highly doubt lots of other fans will ever agree with it. Not to mention that it really seems only another chance to promot the whole Eric/Calleigh stuff which, in all honesty, I'm sick and tired of especially when I have to read interviews about the show with not so very subtle hints of it.
As for his return not implying anyone esle getting fired because of it, while I'd love to believe both in Adam's and CBS words, I cannot find myself hoping it.
Let's see what will happen and cross our fingers!
