oops CW's flagship show under 2 million

Were those repeats on CW or a first run show? If those were not repeats, CW might want to rethink their lineup. Even with ABC running a so not interesting wedding, look who is back in 4th place without the Olympics. NBC you are really going to renew Trauma? I guess you are so accustomed to finishing in 4th on Mondays because of Heroes that Trauma will fit in nicely. Fire Jeffrey Zucker!

I am sure some felined loser is about to start in about what a tour de fart night ABC had, but looking at the numbers its plain so see that CBS is the ratings champ once again on Monday night. They BEAT ABC every hour.

Now lets look at the adult demographics of 18-49. AGAIN CBS was way ahead with FOX in 2nd. SO it is untrue that old people watch CBS..just more people.

Purrrrrrrhaps somthing got damaged in one of those endless yoga classes.

FOX didnt do to badly either for the night with House winning at 8pm and 24 not too far behind in 3rd.

I love putting the cat out!

Shares of Disney stocks dropped again, mainly because ABC is choking them to death. Disney is now desperate to find a buyer for ABC but to date there are no takers. In Disney's mind there is no hope of ABC recovering. Dancing with the Stars will help but in the long run ABC just can not compete with CBS.

I'm really proud of Life Unexpected for going up. That show rocks!!!

LUX did better than Gossip Girl, yet GG was renewed while we still wait on LUX... Interesting.

@John Cryer: Very well said :)

And the most amazing thing is that CW is so wedded to that show as its signature show that it renewed it again, in spite of the fact it's been dragging CW into complete and utter irrelevance.

It really inspires awe to realize how disconnected with reality CW's executives seem to be.

Eu adoro o csi miami e todos os outrs csis, mas tambem adoro o castle e pelo que vejo, já está quase a morder os calos ao csi miami. A gossip girl, mais dia menos dia, vai ser cancelada.

Generally, How I Met Your Mother unspectacularly keeps growing slowly and seems not to have established itself in the "Over 10 Million" club. Another interesting success story at CBS.

Meanwhile Chuck continues to disappoint at NBC (but you won't read that in the press!) and so does 24 on FOX (again something you won't read in the press!)

Castle still hangs on to enough of its strong lead-ins that ABC will feel better about renewing it than Cougar Town, while Gossip Girl managed to be beaten by something else on CW to what should be hoots and hollers of derision for CW's executives (but of course will only be PR spin pretending this is a show anyone ever cared about).

Speaking of nonsensical programming, NBC renewed the rest of its Loser Thursday lineup, once again arguing that all those low-rated shows are critical darlings (and that it somehow makes up for the lack of viewership) and once again spinning numbers by claiming almost 10 million viewers for The Office when that show routinely gets between 7 and 8 million and only spikes to 9 million when NBC tries yet again to relaunch it.

Imagine the number of shows that NBC could have tried if it hadn't been wedded to the idea that it had to save appearances by pretending its Thursday still mattered.

That is where the press does a huge dis-service to the industry by kowtowing to its short-term hype desires while ignoring the elephants in the room.

@Andrea: Kudos for putting the Bachelor ratings into proper perspective.

I'll venture to guess ABC did not volunteer that piece of statistical info and you won't get fawning thank yous from their PR department.

But you'll get a Thanks from me (and I'll venture to guess) from all who still care about good entertainment reporting. :)
