'Til Death's' Brad Garrett confirms: It's dead [UPDATED]

brad-garrett-til-death-320.jpgBrad Garrett stayed with his latest sitcom 'til its death, which he says has now happened after four seasons.

Though the official announcement hasn't been made yet by FOX, the triple-Emmy-winner for "Everybody Loves Raymond" tells Zap2it "'Til Death" is done for good. "The other night, we got an 0.8 [rating]," Garrett reports in his famously deep voice. "Once your mom stops watching, you're an 0.4. The network said, 'What do you suggest?' I said, 'If you give me one more month, I can take you to a zero.' And there was dead silence."

Garrett adds that others who were involved in "'Til Death" have moved on to other projects: "After year two, when you're getting beat by Telemundo, it's time to go home. I mean, even the show my housekeeper watches was beating the show that was paying her salary. I'd come in the room, and she'd quickly turn off Telemundo."

Soon to be honored along with the rest of the "Raymond" cast at the 8th Annual TV Land Awards -- which the nostalgia-themed network (now showing "Raymond" repeats regularly) will televise Sunday, April 25 -- Garrett also was an executive producer of "'Til Death." He says he isn't necessarily gun-shy about trying another series, but it may take a while.

"What this last experience did," he reflects, "was to make me more picky than ever. To be honest, when this show came to me four years ago, it was very different from what it ended up being. I was going with my gut then.

"As an actor, I want to work. I've been asked to teach some comedy classes; it's great to see these young actors who have a ton of questions and want to get an opinion. I love doing different things."

[UPDATE: FOX has now officially confirmed that the network has indeed pulled the plug on the sitcom.]

Thank God!

Who knew this was STILL on? I thought it died its first season.

best show on t.v.,i watched it every week.i am truly sad.

It may not have been the best comedy on tv or even 11th best, but Brad Garrett is a great comedian and I look forward to any show he is in.

It jumped the shark once the Woodcocks left the show. What were they thinking when they let them go?

i quit watchin after the first season because the woodcocks werent on the show anymore.

Linda, my words exactly!

I still enjoyed the show and I thought that this year was its funniest year yet. It was confusing, though, because they showed the shows this season out of order. Even though the shows this week were new, their daughter was not yet married, even though she got married earlier this season.

Also, they had 3 or 4 different actresses playing their daughter, Alison, which didn't help out any.

But how funny that their son-in-law thought he was just in a sitcom. When the boom microphone was in the picture, that was just so funny.

Those two had a kid?!

YES I WILL SAY IT WAS KIND OF MIXED UP AND OUT OF ORDER. I LOVED HOW THEY BROUGHT THE CHANGE OF THE DAUGHTERS INTO THE SHOW, JUST LIKE ROSEANNE DID WITH BECKY. USUALLY NOTHING ELSE ON AT THE SAME TIME. I LOVED THE BLOOPERS AT THE END OF THE SHOW.
