'The View's' Elisabeth Hasselbeck takes a tumble for 'Thin Ice'

elisabeth-hasselbeck-on-ice.jpg"The View's" Elisabeth Hasselbeck latest career move has left her a little bruised with a pulled muscle "somewhere," she tells Zap2it.

The talk show host took a tumble (or four) on "The View" Friday (March 19) morning promoting her hosting gig on "Thin Ice", the all-new reality show premiering on ABC that night. "Thin Ice" judge Kristi Yamaguchi's quick-and-dirty skating lesson might have left Hasselbeck a bit bruised up, but that didn't put a damper on the talk show host's excitement over scoring this ice-bound opportunity.

"There's no way I couldn't be a part of this," Hasselbeck says.

Hasselbeck and four-time world champion Kurt Browning will co-host the two-day ABC show featuring 10 pro skaters paired as five couples competing for $220,000 in prize money. The scoring from the judges (including Yamaguchi, Katarina Witt and Dick Button) will count for 50 percent, while audience participation makes up the other half.

While Hasselbeck doesn't have the skating credentials of her co-host, she does offer the enthusiasm factor. She told us she and her kids were glued to the TV during the Vancouver Olympics, especially during Joannie Rochette's moving performance in the wake of her mother's passing. Rochette will do a tribute to her mom on "Thin Ice" on Friday, which Hasselbeck predicts will touch viewers.

"Undoubtedly there will be an emotional moment when she does that here. It's an honor to actually be the backdrop for something that spectacular."

Among the competing skaters are John Zimmerman and Michael Weiss, both three-time U.S. national champions and 2002 Olympic pairs champions David Pelletier and Jamie Sale of Canada.

Who does Hasselbeck predict will win?

"Really think it's a skating competition where anything can happen. And everyone will be fully entertained."

If you want to be fully entertained by Hasselbeck learning (a.k.a. falling) on the ice on Friday's "The View," watch the clip below.

To watch "Thin Ice," tune in Friday, March 19 at 8 p.m. ET (the competition) and Sunday, March 21 at 7 p.m. ET (the results show).

elizabeth is hot, has been for some time, her smile is priceless!

That was too funny.

I got a great laugh out of that

Mmm Elisabeth.. I love to pause and zoom in whenever she's bending over LOL

Elizabeth needs to leave the hosting to someone else. She seems to do best when she is playing to a childlike audience. It is hard enough to watch the view with her on on the panel and now someone thinks we want to see her on Prime Time relating to ice skaters. If you must keep her for morning talk shows, I can live with that. All I can say is she must have an "in" somewhere in the industry, her claim to fame goes back only to Survivor, talent is not why doors have opened for her, hard to believe isn't it????

Seeing Elisabeth Hasselback wearing white legwarmers may have been the highlight of my year so far.

I think the comment from Florida panning Elizabeth is a huge case of envy....she or he is probably an unhappy clutz that wouldn't hold a candle to Elizabeth...sorry the person is such a prune Ellizbeth, you havae guts.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck brings out the good, the bad, the ugly in us. As a woman that stands behind other women to catch a break and succeed, I can honestly say Elizabeth is just plain annoying. On "The View" in my opinion, she vies for more camera time with her cohosts. She over-talks her opinions, and frankly, annoys me with her gibberish. I don't get why she is on this program with educated women that know how to have interesting discussions. Please retire her to a Saturday morning kiddie show.

Her points on The View might be more well received if she could just deliver them without sounding so very combative. It's really annoying and creates a tense environment. Ah, but that seems to be the modus operandi of The View... Tension and really awkward moments too. Oh boy! XD *rolls eyes*

To the people who hate on Elisabeth,if she did'nt have opinion on The View then it would be called "The Agreement"
Why is it that only Liberals can have an opinion? And you say that she's annoying,..and what,Joy Behar is not? Please.Get a life.
