'So You Think You Can Dance' Season 7: No top 20, partners change weekly

Nigel Lythgoe is announcing big changes at "So You Think You Can Dance" this season.All week he has been tweeting out some pretty major rule changes to the "SYTYCD" world.
Via Nigel's twitter account:
**First rule change. Only one dancer will leave the competition each week and not two. Many more changes to come by the end of this week.
**Another rule change for SYTYCD this coming Season. The partners will change every single week.
**This Season will not have a top 20. The pieces are falling into place. More tomorrow.
We're doing a conference call with Nigel on Monday, March 29, so hopefully we can get some clarification about these rules. No top 20? What does that mean? More dancers? Less?
And as for switching partners every week, we have to think that could be detrimental to the taller women or shorter men. There's a reason that someone short like Season 5's Evan Kasprzak is good with Randi Evans, but then struggles once he has to dance with the taller Melissa Sandvig. Or that in Season 4, there was almost no one for Kourtni Lind to be paired with and she was eliminated the same week her tall partner Matt went home.
It will be interesting to see what these changes do to the show.

Go back to the rotating judges. Adam Shankman is funny but I loved seeing all the other choreographers as judges too! And I agree with taping Mary's mouth shut...the mute button is never far while watching SYTYCD.
Mary murphy is the best, she is so funny. TALK MORE, mary! right onto the hot tamale train haha i love her catch phrases. and at first when i heard the changes i was like wtf, but now that i think about it it seems like a good idea cause its more fair. now people wont be carried just cause of having a great partner or constantly let down cause of a bad partner. good move, sytycd. but i agree with kate.. sytycd in the fall was a bad move
