There are more "So You Think You Can Dance" rule changes afoot."So You Think You Can Dance" producer Nigel Lythgoe previously tweeted that "SYTYCD" Season 7 will feature weekly partner changes and no Top 20. He has now been tweeting more rule changes for the upcoming season:
**CHANGE-The competitors will no longer choose their genres of dance. I'll explain everything before the SYTYCD Press Conference on Monday!
**No top 20! No choosing genres! Only one goes home each week CHANGE - Less than 4 compete in the Finale! Fox reveals all the changes tomorrow
**Of course there's still one more exciting and awesome change that links together the other small changes and makes sense of the entire show.
We wonder what the last awesome change is? If they're changing partners weekly (which means they still have partners) but only one person goes home every week, how does that work? Will someone dance alone every other week?

I've been in favor of them shuffling partners for a while. We've seen some cases where a particular partner can almost hurt someone abilty to shine.
Can't wait to hear the full offical update on this.
Does anyone know (maybe this will be discussed as well) will the show return to summer or be a fall show again? The fall season just didn't feel right. Baseball playoffs kinda wrecked the flow of the season. Then just as it was starting to get good it all ended.
Similar to season 1, then. As I recall, in S1 either the boys or the girls picked a partner out of the hat and then the partner picked the dance genre out of the hat.
Sounds like they're dispensing with the hat, but the change-partner-every-week is something they've done before. Probably a good idea.
I loved everything I ever saw Cat Deeley wear until season six. She used to wear the cutest clothes and unique too.... until last season. What changed last season? Please change it back - I love to see what she is going to wear next.
