'Saturday Night Live': Betty White to host May 8, reunites Tina Fey, Molly Shannon and more

It's official! Betty White is gracing the "Saturday Night Live" stage May 8 -- please do a "Golden Girls" sketch. Please.People is reporting that WNBC in New York reported Thursday morning (March 11) that Betty White is confirmed as the host for the May 8 episode (just in time for Mother's Day!).
The episode will also reunite former female cast members Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.
Lorne Michaels says in a statement, "I can't think of a better way to spend Mother's Day weekend than with Betty White."
There has to be a "Golden Girls" sketch, right? Should Betty White play Rose Nylund, as she did on the show? Or take on one of the other "Golden Girls?" Based on the jokes at the Screen Actors Guild awards, she'd be better off as senior playgirl Blanche Devereaux.
Either way, we can't wait. Looks like the Facebook campaign paid off!

I'd much rather see Betty play Sofia if they do a GG sketch.
She'd be perfect...but then again Miss Betty is perfect in anything she does. I can't wait to tune in to this.
she was originally supposed to play blanch, but producers asked her to take the role of rose because they felt she had been the ***** before in other shows. Anyway i CAN NOT WAIT for this show..
This will be the best show in the history of SNL. As much as I'd like to see a Golden Girls sketch, I think SNL would have a great time doing a Match Game sketch. Who could they get to do Charles Nelson Reilly?
Awesome! She's hosting on my birthday. That's the only present I need! I'm even more excited that all those hilarious ex-cast members are coming back! I hope there's a Debbie Downer sketch, a Martha Stewart sketch, a Kaitlin sketch, a Donatella Versace sketch and a Superstah! or I'm 50! sketch. This is shaping up to be good. The writers better not let us down!!!!!
Oh, and with Tina returning, there BETTER be a Palin sketch!
