'Prince of Persia': Watch the new trailer

jake-gyllenhaal-prince-of-persia.jpgThe second trailer for "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" has hit the web, and it's a little easier to follow than the first one.

Which is to say, there's a little more explanation of the story, and it's visually not as frenetic as the first trailer was. You'll see some of the same footage -- Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) swinging down into battle, Dastan and Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) engaging in flirty banter, pretty effects shots of flying arrows and sandstorms. You'll also see more of the titular sands of time and how Dastan uses them.

Still unexplained: why everyone in ancient Persia speaks with a British accent.

Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think. "Prince of Persia" hits theaters on May 28.

i can't WAIT for this to come out!

very very good team and all the best

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is an obvious game adaptation. It is directed by Mike Newell, the respected director of Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire, Four Weddings and A Funeral, Mona Lisa Smile, Donnie Brasco, Love in the Time of Cholera, and he is not afraid of using fine quality CGI effects and creating strong action scenes. This entertaining video game adaptation with its interesting story is written by Boaz Yakin, a successful and indie writer who stunned the audience with his Fresh and The Punisher and the co-writer is Doug Miro we know from The Uninvited and The Great Raid.

This looks pretty frickin' awesome, I must say, even despite all the concerns about Gyllenhaal playing the lead, it looks great.
