'Melrose Place's' Colin Egglesfield Is 'Borrowed'

colin-egglesfield-gi-320.jpgColin Egglesfield may have left "Melrose Place" behind, but he's still going to participate in some scandalous behavior.

The former CW actor has landed the male lead in the film adaptation of Emily Giffin's chick lit novel "Something Borrowed" alongside John Krasinski and Ginnifer Goodwin, reports Variety.

The story revolves around good girl attorney Rachel (Goodwin), who's always been envious of her more attractive, fun best friend Darcy. After a few too many martinis on her birthday, Rachel sleeps with Darcy's fiancee Dex (Egglesfield) and begins an ongoing affair that really isn't the best idea. Krasinski plays Rachel's friend and confidant who has a bigger role in "Something Borrowed's" sequel, "Something Blue," which centers on Darcy.

Egglesfield is a fan favorite from his "All My Children" days. Once he was evicted from "Melrose Place," Zap2it readers were vocal about where he should land his next job. The male lead in a big screen project? Not too shabby.

If by "left Melrose Place" you mean "avoided its inevitable cancellation," then you would be correct.

I loved this book, so glad to see it being made into a movie, and with Gennifer Goodwin, love her!

Tyrone, since *every* show faces an "inevitable cancellation", your 'interpretation' of a fact was nothing more than a waste of time and space.

The story does not have much depth...but Im sure the movie will do well with the people they have chosen. A cute story w a great setting NYC.
